Full Job Description
About the Role:

Planet is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to lead marketing for our Global Monitoring Solutions. This portfolio serves defense, intelligence, and government customers who need to understand what is changing across large areas over time - built on Planet's daily broad area monitoring and pattern of life analysis.

This role asks for real depth in the mission. You'll need to understand the people involved in this work - intelligence analysts, operations managers, and senior political and military leadership - and what they're trying to accomplish. That understanding is what shapes our messaging and what we bring back to Product to inform where the roadmap should go. You'll partner closely with Industry Marketing, Product, Sales, and Enablement, and you'll often be the person in the room who can translate between the technology and the mission.

This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco or Washington, D.C. office 3 days per week.

Impact You'll Own:
  • Own the marketing plan for solutions already in the market, and lead strategy and launch for new ones, partnering with Marketing, Sales, and Enablement across the lifecycle.
  • Develop the value proposition, messaging frameworks, and ICPs that align our GTM teams and speak to customers, in language they can see themselves in.
  • Show how these solutions fit together and connect to the rest of Planet, and keep that clear as the portfolio grows.
  • Continuously assess and improve positioning, campaigns, content, and sales effectiveness in close partnership with our GTM teams.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Product, bringing customer, competitive, and market insight that sharpens how we compete.
  • Build deep knowledge of the portfolio - how analysis is produced and delivered, the integration paths into customer workflows, and the roadmap - so you can explain it clearly to customer-facing teams.
  • Maintain a library of product assets - solution briefs, pitch decks, battlecards, objection handling, customer vignettes, and narrative-driven collateral - that are current, compelling, and highly usable for customer-facing teams.

What You Bring:
  • 6+ years of relevant product marketing experience with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in B2G or B2B categories, demonstrating a strong understanding of how government and defense customers evaluate, procure, and decide.
  • Track record of engaging hard-to-reach buyers with modern storytelling - video, customer-led narrative, formats built for how people actually consume content - and ability to tell a compelling story inside the constraints this market comes with.
  • An AI-native builder mindset; you actively leverage AI tools in your day-to-day workflow to generate messaging, build solutions, and accelerate execution.
  • Track record positioning and marketing B2B/enterprise products, specifically bringing zero-to-one AI or highly technical SaaS products to market.
  • Experience partnering with product, sales, and executive stakeholders and communicating across leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-starter with ability to collaborate across departments.

What Makes You Stand Out:
  • Direct experience with maritime domain awareness, ISR, GEOINT, or persistent monitoring mission areas.
  • Proven ability to articulate complex technological futures and translate them into deeply penetrating product-market fit.
  • Experience working with international sales teams
  • Geospatial expertise
