The Job

The Senior Product Manager will lead product strategy, development, and execution across NCAA Digital products and platforms, driving innovative fan experiences that serve millions of passionate college sports fans. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities, defining product vision, and delivering high-impact initiatives across the NCAA Digital ecosystem, including NCAA March Madness Live and related NCAA.com championship experiences.

The Senior Product Manager will play a critical role in shaping and delivering best-in-class experiences throughout the fan journey, focusing on engagement, content discovery, live event consumption, and platform growth. This individual will lead products from strategy through execution while balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical considerations, and will work cross-functionally with engineering, design, analytics, editorial, marketing, and business stakeholders.

The Daily

Lead platform-specific prioritization and execution across connected TV ecosystems, including Roku, Fire TV, Xbox, LG TV, Android TV and other emerging connected platforms, balancing fan experience consistency with unique platform capabilities, technical constraints, certification requirements, and release processes. Responsible for operating products during key live events, including the NCAA Tournament, while ensuring a high-quality fan experience across platforms.

The Senior Product Manager will create and communicate product plans, roadmap updates, feature requirements, launch readiness materials, and performance recaps to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams. This role will also mentor and support junior product managers and contribute to product team best practices and operating mechanisms.

Product Strategy

Own and drive product strategy for assigned product areas and platform experiences. Translate fan needs, business priorities, research insights, analytics, and market trends into product vision, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.

Lead platform-specific prioritization and execution across connected TV ecosystems, balancing fan experience consistency with unique platform capabilities, technical constraints, certification requirements, and release processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams to prioritize opportunities and align product investments with company and NCAA goals. Evaluate platform opportunities, emerging device trends, and evolving viewer behaviors across the Connected TV landscape. Monitor industry trends and maintain deep knowledge of the sports, streaming, media, and mobile technology landscape.

Use qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities, inform prioritization, validate hypotheses, and measure impact. Develop product recommendations and business cases that improve fan engagement, retention, consumption, and overall product performance.

Product Development & Execution

Lead relationships with internal development teams and third-party partners for assigned product areas. Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept through launch, optimization, and ongoing iteration.

Create clear product artifacts including product briefs, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans, launch documentation, and operational readiness plans. Partner closely with Engineering and QA teams to ensure high-quality product delivery and consistent release cadence.

Drive prioritization and decision-making across competing initiatives while balancing fan experience, technical feasibility, operational considerations, timelines, and business impact.

Analyze product performance and fan behavior to continuously optimize experiences and inform future roadmap decisions. Operate products during major live events and proactively identify opportunities for operational and product improvements.

Mentor junior PMs and contribute to product team processes, standards, and best practices.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication

Serve as a key product partner and primary point of contact for assigned product areas across internal and external stakeholder groups.

Lead product reviews, roadmap discussions, launch planning, and post-event recaps with stakeholders and leadership. Build strong collaborative relationships across Product, Engineering, Design, Editorial, Operations, Research, Ad Sales, Marketing, and partner organizations.

Communicate product strategy, priorities, risks, timelines, and results clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The Essentials
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in product management, digital media, streaming, sports, or related technology fields
  • Experience owning digital products or platform features throughout the full product lifecycle from strategy and ideation through launch and optimization across mobile, connected TV, and/or digital platforms
  • Experience working with streaming/video experiences
  • Experience working on connected TV platforms (Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, gaming consoles, smart TVs, etc.) preferred but not required
  • Passion for sports, media, and fan-focused product experiences preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to drive product decisions
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Research, Operations, and business stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience creating product briefs, requirements, presentations, and executive updates
  • Experience operating in fast-paced live event or high-traffic digital environments preferred
  • Proficient with product and project management tools including JIRA, Confluence, Excel, PowerPoint, and analytics platforms
  • Passion for the latest emerging technologies, including AI preferred but not required
