Full Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager, Technical with a strong technical background to own our vision for the operator console that Amazon's next-generation fulfillment buildings are run on. This is a deeply technical role. You will work side by side with software development managers, science managers, and engineers, and you will push them to build better, faster, and cheaper with more capability every quarter. We are not looking for someone to ship another monitoring dashboard. We want someone who drives the team past monitoring and alarms toward a building that catches and resolves its own problems before a human ever sees them.

That ambition is concrete: move each capability up an arc from a health overview, to automated root-cause on an issue, to a recommended next best action, to directed and eventually autonomous resolution. You will own how far and how fast our equipment advances along that arc, and you will hold engineering and science to the bar that gets us there. This is also a role for someone who leads through influence. The console is built jointly across several Amazon organizations, so you will be the single product voice for how our equipment works in it, aligning partner teams you do not control and turning several groups' priorities into one coherent product. The strategy is still being written, so you will create clarity where the problem is not yet fully defined.

Key job responsibilities

- Own the product strategy, vision, and multi-quarter roadmap for how our equipment shows up in the console, and push it up the arc from monitoring toward autonomous resolution.

- Engage engineering and science leaders as a technical peer: challenge complexity estimates, weigh architecture trade-offs on their merits, and define acceptance criteria for software that runs a live building for years.

- Be the single product voice for our organization across the partner teams that co-build the console, earning alignment through shared interest rather than escalation and reconciling competing priorities into one experience.

- Own the business value case for your product, cost to run versus operational value delivered, and make build, extend, or partner calls with clear justification.

- Run customer research in live fulfillment buildings, manage deployment readiness with Operations, sequence inbound demand against committed launches, and own the post-launch health of what you ship against adoption, reliability, cost avoided, and customer satisfaction.

A day in the life

What your morning will look like if we are successful: You start with overnight telemetry across deployed sites and a class of alarm the system should have caught and cleared on its own, which becomes your next roadmap push. Mid-morning you are with your engineering lead pressure-testing whether an automated root-cause capability can hit the latency it needs at the data volume a live building throws at it, and you hold the line on the harder, better answer. After lunch you align partner-team product leaders on how their data and your equipment views coexist in one screen, then run office hours with floor technicians during a surge to see where the product still makes them think too hard. You end the day walking a deployment readiness checklist with Operations for a building commissioning next quarter. Your customers are the operators, engineers, and technicians who use your product every day in fulfillment buildings.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent

- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

- Experience managing technical products or online services

- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

- Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time

- Experience in an operational environment developing, fast-prototyping, piloting and launching analytic products

- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
