Full Job Description
Position overview

As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Point-of-Sale platform. You will own strategy, discovery, and execution for our core POS platform. A core focus will also be strengthening the platform's technical foundations so the team can build faster, while keeping the product running reliably for thousands of live restaurants. You'll be the PM who takes the platform through that transition and drives the roadmap in parallel. You'll operate within our product operating model - accountable for business outcomes rather than output, embedded day-to-day with engineering and design, and grounded in how restaurant operators and staff use the platform in live operations.

Key responsibilities

Product Operating Model & Continuous Discovery
  • Operate an empowered team with engineering and design, to iterate based on live usage data and achieve real business outcomes that solve real customer pain points
  • Work closely with customers during continuous discovery, including customer interviews and in-store observation to make sure we're building the right thing
  • Balance speed and quality, making bold decisions when needed while ensuring execution excellence

Platform Modernization & Roadmap Strategy
  • Define and maintain a strategic roadmap for HungerRush's core POS product, balancing platform modernization, commercial tradeoffs (pricing, packaging, investment priorities), and continued delivery of value to restaurant operators and guests
  • Work hand-in-hand with engineering on what to modernize, deprecate, or restructure, sequenced by business impact and future AI/reporting needs
  • Develop deep fluency in how restaurant operators and staff use HungerRush's POS and ground roadmap and feature decisions in those real operational workflows
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis, and use customer insights and data to inform product decisions, including where modernization work should be sequenced against feature demand
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features and platform work based on customer needs and business goals

AI-Native Product Practice
  • Use AI tools fluently as part of your workflow - for research synthesis, data analysis, spec writing, and prototyping - and identify opportunities to build AI-powered capabilities directly into the POS platform, from transaction-level anomaly detection to automated recommendations for operators, as part of the platform's ongoing evolution

Commercial Ownership
  • Own go-to-market for new POS capabilities - including positioning, messaging, and launch planning - partnering with sales, marketing, and customer success on rollout timing so releases land successfully with operators and franchise partners

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Communication
  • Partner directly with Engineering leadership on architectural decisions, shaping technical direction alongside execution.
  • Coordinate with other product teams and departments, representing the Product in cross-team planning
  • Communicate roadmap, trade-offs, and progress to Product leadership, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success, rallying the team around the vision and strategy, not just status updates.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Product Manager in the SaaS industry, preferably within restaurant Tech or POS domains
  • Extensive hands-on experience running customer interviews and discovery research, deep empathy for users, ability to translate insights into product decisions, familiarity with UX/UI best practices
  • Bias toward shipping small and validating quickly over "big bang" releases
  • Platform modernization experience - you've helped evolve a legacy system into a modern, scalable architecture, including the data foundation needed to support reliable reporting and future AI-driven capabilities, and understand how to sequence the work based on business impact analysis
  • Proficient in setting measurable goals (OKRs, KPIs), skilled at using product analytics to drive decisions
  • Fluent with AI tools as part of daily product work - research synthesis, spec generation, data analysis, prototyping and experience shipping AI-powered features in a live product
  • Proven ability to move fluidly between long-term platform strategy and hands-on delivery, with a track record of shipping successful products, sound commercial judgment on pricing and investment tradeoffs, strong prioritization skills, and sound judgment on what to build, what to defer, and what to rebuild
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and stakeholder management skills - able to build genuine trust and partnership with engineers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Skilled at articulating product value and positioning to internal and external stakeholders, from crafting the narrative to presenting it persuasively
  • Able to align and inspire teams through a period of significant technical change
