Job Description:ASU is seeking a
Senior Product Manager to serve as the strategic owner of one or more high-impact, student-facing platforms that support the student lifecycle. These products serve as critical touch points within ASU's academic ecosystem, directly shaping how prospective and current students access information, navigate options, and make enrollment and academic decisions.
This is a senior individual-contributor role requiring deep product expertise, strong cross-functional leadership, and the ability to operate with high autonomy. The ideal candidate will transform these products from static informational tools into intelligent, adaptive experiences that support ASU's mission of access, flexibility, and lifelong learning.
Salary Range: $94,300.00 - $118,000; DOE
Essential Duties:The Senior Product Manager will:- Develop and Manage the Product Roadmap:Create and maintain an outcome-driven, multi-horizon roadmap that balances operational reliability, risk mitigation, modernization, and user experience improvements. Clearly communicate roadmap priorities and trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership.
- Prioritize Based on Value and Risk:Establish and lead structured prioritization processes grounded in user impact, institutional value, regulatory requirements, and platform risk. Shift the organization from reactive intake toward intentional, outcome-based decision making.
- Partner Closely with Engineering and Delivery Teams:Collaborate with engineering leaders to translate product strategy into executable work. Ensure backlog clarity, well-defined acceptance criteria, and alignment between business goals and technical implementation.
- Measure and Improve Outcomes:Define success metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for PeopleSoft initiatives. Monitor platform health, operational performance, and user experience to inform iterative improvements.
- Drive Platform Modernization Thoughtfully:Identify opportunities for integration, automation, and modernization that enhance institutional agility while preserving governance, compliance, and reliability.
- Ensure Product Governance and Documentation Discipline:Maintain transparent decision logs, clear documentation, and defined ownership structures to strengthen accountability and institutional trust.
- Lead Cross-Functional Product Forums:Facilitate structured product reviews, stakeholder alignment sessions, and roadmap updates to ensure visibility, clarity, and shared ownership across functional domains.
- Leverage AI in routine tasks and contribute ideas for using AI to improve the unit's efficiency and overall performance.
- Take responsibility for fostering a positive culture, upholding organizational values, and championing engagement in all its forms.
- Collaborate across teams and actively participate in ET/ASU events and programs.
Desired Qualifications:- 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead PM role
- Demonstrated track record of owning full product lifecycle, from discovery through delivery and iteration
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholder groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence without authority
- Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments and deliver measurable outcomes
- Experience managing or modernizing large administrative platforms within large organizations.
- Familiarity with product governance and outcome-oriented frameworks.
- Experience with change management, risk mitigation, and operational governance at scale.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Highly collaborative with a track record of building effective partnerships across stakeholder groups.
- Ability to balance tactical operational needs with long-term platform vision.

Working Environment:- Activities primarily take place in a standard, climate-controlled office environment and may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, or moving between office spaces.
- This role involves regular use of a computer (desktop and/or laptop), including a keyboard and mouse.
- Effective communication and proficiency with a variety of technologies are essential for collaboration with the broader team.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Regular responsibilities may require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
