About the Role:
As a Director on the Studio Developer team, you will operate as an enterprise leader responsible for setting product strategy, driving cross-platform outcomes, and ensuring delivery at scale. You will lead Studio Developer, Aladdin’s platform for extending and automating workflows, shaping how users build, adapt, and run custom workflows in a governed, enterprise-ready way, while leading large, complex initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders to translate vision into measurable client and commercial impact.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Set and evolve the vision for Studio Developer as Aladdin’s extensibility layer, enabling customization and automation within the platform while preserving the integrity of core functionality
- Drive platform adoption and scale, partnering closely with BlackRock and other key users to identify high-value use cases, scale repeatable patterns, and reduce off-platform development risk
- Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team across product, engineering, and operations, with clear priorities, accountability, and a high bar for execution
- Establish and drive platform standards and long-term direction, aligning teams so custom development scales in a governed and operationally sound way
- Provide platform and technical leadership across governance, transparency, and controls, embedding these directly into the developer experience
- Translate internal success into client adoption, shaping how Studio Developer is positioned and scaled externally
Skills/Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in product, platform, or technology roles, ideally in complex, client-facing environments
- Strong technical foundation, with prior experience in software engineering or a related technical discipline strongly preferred
- Experience leading platform or developer-facing products, including driving adoption and scaling usage across organizations
- Proven ability to lead across teams, align multiple stakeholders, and balance near-term delivery with long-term platform direction
- Strong commercial and client orientation, with experience evolving internal capabilities into scalable, client-facing offerings
- Deep understanding of developer platforms, including APIs, SDKs, and deployment in a governed enterprise environment
- Familiarity with modern developer workflows and AI-assisted tooling, with sound judgment on how to deploy these responsibly at scale
- Strong relationship management and executive communication skills, including the ability to challenge, set boundaries, and clearly articulate strategy, trade-offs, and outcomes
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$215,000.00 - USD$275,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
