Job Purpose
The Planning Product Engineer supports Pre-production engineering activities, including design and modification, and manages the lifecycle of specific products or product groups from definition and planning through to production.
Nature of Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute plans for high-technology manufacturing jobs, including sequential processing, filled via technology, and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) requirements.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to newly hired Planners.
- Process repeat orders and new jobs in strict accordance with Sanmina procedures and operational rules.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Engineering Applications Group (EAG) and internal programmers to identify and implement planning automation requirements.
- Create stack-ups that fulfill customer requirements for dielectrics, impedance, and signal loss.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for internal departments and maintain professional communication with customers.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews on customer-submitted designs.
- Manage specification reviews and update summaries for customer documentation and industry standards.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or an Associate's degree with 6+ years of experience in Printed Circuit Manufacturing
- Experience in planning, product engineering, and tooling within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in interpreting standard manufacturing design rules, blueprints, customer specifications, and IPC industry standards.
- Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of High Density Interconnect (HDI) designs and associated manufacturing processes
- High attention to detail, experience interpreting customer blueprints
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective customer interaction.
This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
Salary Range (annual) : $100,00.00 - $108,000.00
Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.
