York International Corporation seeks Senior Product Engineer at its facility located at 5000 Renaissance Dr, New Freedom, PA 17349.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Research, design and testing of water-cooled centrifugal chiller systems targeting data center applications. Cover the research and development process all the way to plant implementation, include on site testing and analysis of the prototype units and onsite troubleshooting of issues on said prototypes. Work on tasks that are project time dependent, with additional documentation time, training time and admin requirements as needed. Contribute to the product team through product design, testing, data analysis, and project management. Support the manufacturing of the product by representing the design team through initiating and executing design changes. Develop and maintain skill sets and work practices to align with the expectations and needs of the organization. Maintain an understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles and processes related to mechanical aspects of water-cooled chillers. Involve mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product. Work closely with the design and drafting group in generating layout concepts and system configurations. Contribute to the on-time completion of programs and regularly report on the status of projects. Generate technical documentation and write technical documents for use within the company. Prepare and help execute test programs to verify performance and reliability of mechanical sub-components and systems. Analyze, design, modify and/or troubleshoot mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on test data. Apply mechanical codes such as UL, CE, PED, and ASME. Possess knowledge of manufacturing processes and apply the philosophy of designing to standard manufacturing processes. Telecommuting: Requires minimum three days in office per week.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Plus four (4) years of experience as a Product Engineer, Project Engineer, or related occupation in the HVAC industry. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Fluid and thermal principles; (2) Product development, project management, and sustaining configurable systems; (3) Organizing and processing large amounts of data; (4) Coordinating and executing test plans for analyzing equipment performance and reliability; (5) Understanding of manufacturing processes for factory support; and (6) UL, CE/PED, and ASME code applications and implementation.
