Full Job Description
Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Senior Product Engineer. The position will be based at our facility in Wilsonville, OR.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

The Senior Product Engineer is responsible for accurately interpreting purchaser specifications and translating them into complex drawings and bills-of-materials in support of the goals established by the Portland Power Center Power Center's manufacture of high-quality products including power distribution, control equipment and aftermarket products. The Senior Product Engineer is expected to be self-motivated, have excellent time management skills, with strong organization skills able to prioritize multiple tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Develop various complex drawings and bills of material based on established product designs, providing sufficient detail to convey the purchaser's equipment application accurately.

B. Collaborate efficiently with customers, distributors, and sales teams in interpreting and defining new equipment applications while providing exceptional customer service.

C. Advise production and purchasing personnel when required, in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser's requirements.

D. Support a specific product line which could include either Low Voltage Assemblies, Medium Voltage Controls, Medium Voltage Assemblies or Medium Voltage Switchgear.

E. Maintain engineering schedule to ensure drawings, bills of material and other key milestones are complete timely to support the production build schedule.

F. Maintain good working relationships with Power Center production teams, engineering teams, and purchasing teams.

G. Provide proactive, leadership-oriented approach to identifying and implementing continuous improvements projects or processes.

H. Support product line quality, using and modifying quality check sheets, peer review processes, and NCR Root Cause/Corrective Action investigations.

I. Stay abreast of Eaton technical product developments through training or other means.

J. Provide training and leadership to other engineers as needed.

K. Support warranty and quality technicians and investigate warranty requests to determine root cause and solution to resolve customer issues.

L. Actively drive and participate in a culture of "Safety First.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years' experience in engineering or manufacturing environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited institution
• Two years' experience in product engineering, design engineering and/or application engineering of electrical power distribution or control equipment.
• A working knowledge of applicable power distribution products and regulatory standards (UL, CSA, IEEE, NEC, etc).
• Proficient in developing mechanical and electrical drawings, ability to read and interpret control schematics, specifications, power flow diagrams.

Additional Information:

• Ability to prioritize jobs and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess a sound working knowledge of software programs such as AutoDesk AutoCAD, Inventor, and Microsoft Office products.
• Working knowledge of electrical principals.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to interact in a cross-functional team environment.
