Full Job Description
Job Summary:
Global is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Strategist, Enterprise Applications to serve as the enterprise authority on application-enabled business processes across designated core platforms (e.g., Right Angle, Oracle, PDI, CRM and other significant systems, as required). Operating as a senior individual contributor, this role sits at the critical intersection of business and technology - requiring deep, working knowledge of both how the business operates end-to-end and how enterprise applications can be configured, integrated, and optimized to support that work.

The fundamental purpose of this role is to ensure Global maximizes the value of its enterprise technology investments. That means designing the business processes that surround these systems so they are intuitive and efficient for the people using them, while simultaneously leveraging the full capability of the underlying technology - so that every investment in these platforms translates into realized business value, improved operational performance, and scalable outcomes for the enterprise.

The Senior Process Strategist, Enterprise Applications partners closely with the Business Process Design Strategist, IT, Project Management and the Business across the enterprise to ensure that application-enabled processes align with enterprise architecture standards, governance models, and the company's strategic business priorities. This role brings advanced expertise in key end-to end operational business processes and system configurations, integrations, controls, and workflow optimization, ensuring that enterprise applications drive measurable business value, operational performance, and scalable process outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines deep enterprise system fluency with strong business acumen and rigorous process discipline. They have a proven track record of redesigning complex, cross-functional, application-enabled processes in ways that simultaneously improve the user experience, maximize return on technology investment, and embed sustainable, scalable ways of working.

Job Description:
  • 1. Enterprise Application Process Strategy & Stewardship
  • Serve as the senior subject matter authority for business processes enabled by designated enterprise platforms, accountable for ensuring those processes deliver maximum value from the underlying technology.
  • Align application-level process design with enterprise process architecture standards, value streams, and governance frameworks established by the Senior Director, Strategic Planning & Change. Advise executive leaders and business owners on complex system-enabled process decisions - including tradeoffs between user efficiency, system capability, and total cost of ownership - providing the dual business-and-technology perspective needed to make sound, value-oriented choices.
  • Translate enterprise process standards into detailed, application-specific modeling approaches and implementation guidance that teams can adopt directly.
  • Identify and shape system-enabled process improvement opportunities that strengthen Global's return on its enterprise technology investments and inform multi-year platform roadmaps.
  • Partner with leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to align design decisions with enterprise standards and the realities of the business.
  • 2. Application-Centric Process Design & Optimization
  • Lead detailed current- and future-state process design within enterprise applications, including workflows, decision logic, controls, and system touchpoints and the human handoffs between them.
  • Identify automation, configuration, integration, and optimization opportunities that simultaneously improve user experience and system performance.
  • Evaluate cross-functional and cross-system dependencies to ensure solutions are scalable and sustainable.
  • Ensure redesigned processes balance business intent, system capability, compliance requirements, and enterprise architecture alignment.
  • Bring deep expertise to system enhancements, upgrades, and transformation initiatives, ensuring process design choices maximize the business value delivered by each technology investment.
  • Refine solutions in partnership with Business and technology stakeholders, incorporating practical considerations that drive real adoption.
  • 3. Documentation, Enablement & Knowledge Leadership
  • Develop structured, enterprise-aligned process documentation including workflow diagrams, RACI models, control points, integration maps, and system dependencies.
  • Translate documentation into practical enablement tools such as training materials, job aids, reference guides, and operational playbooks that drive adoption and protect the value of the underlying process and system investments.
  • Build and maintain institutional knowledge that captures application workflows, historical design decisions, and integration logic, ensuring that hard-won understanding doesn't leave Global with people changes or platform transitions.
  • Mentor and provide subject matter guidance to process analysts and cross-functional project teams raising the overall capability of how Global designs, documents, and sustains application-enabled processes.
  • Ensure documentation standards support traceability, compliance, audit readiness, and ongoing process sustainability.
  • Engage stakeholders throughout documentation and enablement work to ensure outputs are clear, usable, and grounded in how work actually gets done.
  • 4. Adoption, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with business leaders, PMO, IT and change teams to monitor adoption of redesigned application-enabled processes and the realized value they deliver.
  • Assess process performance data, user feedback, and operational metrics to identify gaps, unintended consequences and opportunities to capture additional value from existing technology.
  • Refine process designs, documentation, and enablement tools based on real-world usage and outcomes, closing the loop between design intent and operational reality.
  • Escalate systemic risks, architectural conflicts, or integration issues that put process performance or technology investment value at risk.
  • Contribute to enterprise capability maturity through disciplined application of standards and continuous improvement practices.
  • Develop & nurture stakeholder relationships that reinforce adoption and surface resistance early, and address misalignment or resistance in a constructive, solution-oriented manner.
  • 5. Enterprise Collaboration & Advisory Impact
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders on application-enabled process strategy and execution, bringing the dual perspective needed to evaluate decisions on both their business merit and their system implications.
  • Support portfolio intake and investment discussions by providing insight into system feasibility, integration complexity, and process impacts.
  • Collaborate closely with Technology, Product, Data & Insights, Finance, HR, and Business Unit leaders to ensure alignment between process design and enterprise objectives.
  • Influence decision-making through expertise, credibility, and data-backed insights rather than formal authority.
  • Represent application process considerations in enterprise transformation and governance forums and investment decisions.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of stakeholders to support alignment and progress of cross-functional initiatives.

Additional Job Description:
  • 12-15+ years of experience designing and optimizing complex, cross-functional business processes that run within major enterprise platforms (ERP, trading, CRM, billing, or equivalent), with deep knowledge of how system configuration, integration, and workflow design drive business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated expertise redesigning complex, cross-functional processes within and around enterprise platforms.
  • Significant experience with and understanding of business drivers and operational processes with the fuel distribution, energy, or adjacent industries is required.
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end value streams from the front office through accounting - including deal capture/trading, sales, scheduling and logistics, pricing, invoicing and settlements, and downstream financial close and reporting - along with the process and system dependencies that connect them.
  • Strong understanding of system configurations, integrations, controls, workflow dependencies, and enterprise data implications.
  • Proven ability to translate system capabilities into measurable business outcomes (efficiency, cycle time, quality, risk reduction, revenue enablement, or customer experience improvements).
  • Experience operating in enterprise-level governance environments with defined architecture standards and portfolio prioritization models.
  • Proven expertise in understanding Global's Business model, systems and value stream processes a significant advantage.
  • Advanced process modeling expertise (e.g., BPMN, value stream mapping, SIPOC, RACI).
  • Exceptional analytical, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex system-process interactions into clear, actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across business and technology stakeholders to support alignment and shared understanding in complex environments.
  • Experience using process modeling and documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio, ARIS, or equivalent platforms).
  • Experience with industry-relevant platforms (e.g., commodity trading and billing systems such as Right Angle) is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred):
  • Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP)
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)
  • Prosci Change Management Certification
  • Relevant enterprise platform specific certifications (e.g., Oracle, Right Angle, PDI, Sales Force)
