What you will do

You will evaluate our current operations and determine more efficient production processes. Your responsibilities include analyzing operations, designing workflows and production processes, reducing inefficiency, and ensuring that final products meet the established quality and safety standards. Key duties include leading and / or participating on projects that increase plant capacity, reduce cost, improve productivity, reduce job hazards, and / or improve product quality.

How you will do it
  • Assist in trouble-shooting assembly and fabrication equipment
  • Train employees for new and updated processes and provide work instructions. Investigate, evaluate, and make recommendations for new equipment, tooling and processes to improve capacity, reliability, and safety.
  • Identify waste and opportunities for the business to improve in (among others by using Lean principles and methodologies), as well as reporting and celebrating past successes in these areas from a business perspective.
  • Responsible for the Johnson Controls Manufacturing System (JCMS) principles as a facilitator for Champions and Backups.
  • Support the organization as a trainer in Lean Manufacturing tools. (5S, Value Chain Mapping, Yamazumi, Std Work, Kaizen, TPM, Quick Change Over, Kanban, Heijunka, Problem Solving with A3/PDCA/8Ds).
  • Optimize workstation layout using Lean tools and techniques.
  • Provide technical know-how to solve problems and determine root cause of product issues in manufacturing.
  • Lead and assist with Cost-out, Safety, Kaizen, and other initiatives.
  • Continuously improve current production methods using Six Sigma methodologies and utilize knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Product Engineer to introduce new products, define needs for capital investments.


Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related manufacturing discipline
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering experience
  • Lean manufacturing principles (material flow, material presentation, process flow, workstation design
  • Proficient in the use of computer-aided design including AutoCAD and SolidWorks and multiple software applications that include Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills -both verbally and in writing - and possess the ability to read and write business policies, procedures, general business periodicals, manuals, blueprints and other correspondence


Preferred:
  • Strong organizational skills and motivational skills
  • Lean and / or Six Sigma Certifications
  • Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and make logical decisions
  • Ability to work independently, as well as within a team
  • Knowledge of machining operations, soldering processes, automated and manual assembly processes
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing and assembly processes, both manual and automated.

SALARY RANGE: $85,200.00 - $127,800.00 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
