Job Description

As the SeniorProcess Engineer, you will lead continuous improvement and safety, as it relates to processes, standard work and equipment used. Identify, define, and implement opportunities that are measurable by risk mitigation, and OEE. Installing, validating and setting up process equipment with the latest technology, creating work instructions, and working synergistically with cross functional teams. The Process Engineer will be responsible for installing and validating new equipment along with any associated automation, methods for how and when the tasks should be performed safely and efficiently plant wide.

This position is onsite full time at New London, NC.

YOUR ROLE:
  • Directs the design, development and/or improvement of manufacturing process for an assigned area.
  • Analyzes product designs for best method of manufacture.
  • Designs and tests new equipment, processes, procedures and systems while developing equipment layouts.
  • Develops and facilitates data-driven process improvements focused on OEE and safety.
  • Develops equipment requirements and specifications that support the design of the manufacturing process for an assigned area.
  • Supports the purchase and installation of new equipment associated with assigned area of the manufacturing plant.
  • Leads and mentors Root Cause Analysis (RCA's) that mitigate hindrances to increased OEE and safety.
  • Evaluates operations and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Quantifies improvements by measurable impacts to OEE, MUV, Takt, CM, ROI, BOM, MTBF and WIP reduction.
  • Identifies, plans and facilitates process improvements and strategic capital projects.
  • Support the development and use of plant standards for 5S and visual management.
  • Optimizes new systems and upgrades to existing processes and facilities.
  • Provides leadership and technical support for all related processes for their area of responsibility within the facility.
  • Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities.
  • Insure lessons learned are analyzed and documented.


Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated industrial/manufacturing engineering experience.
  • 5+ years in process improvement with demonstrated projects and impact.
  • Knowledge and application of improvement tools including PDCA, SMED, 6 Sigma.
  • Passion and drive to continuously improve plant operations.
  • Proven interpersonal & communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Experience writing SOP and work instructions.
  • Proven & effective facilitation, leadership, mentoring, and training skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Must be willing to work long hours on plant floor as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Composite extrusion experience.
  • 2+ years' experience with Continuous Improvement tools such as lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 6 sigma.
  • Process-oriented individual with strong experience in DMAIC process, standardization, creating Work Instructions, SOP's, and implementing SPC.
  • Knowledge of the ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment and other conditions will affect outcomes.
  • Basic PLC knowledge a plus.
  • Strong Project Management skills.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $126,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
