Step into a pivotal role within our growing Mine Waste team in the GTA, where your expertise will help shape complex, high-impact mining projects across Canada. As a Senior Mine Waste Engineer, you'll contribute to the full lifecycle of tailings and mine waste facilities-from early-stage studies through to design, construction, operations, and closure-while supporting sustainable and responsible mining practices.

Your Impact
  • Lead the design, assessment, and optimization of tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and mine waste systems across all project phases
  • Apply advanced geotechnical engineering principles to evaluate slope stability, seepage, drainage, and long-term performance
  • Deliver high-quality engineering analyses, reports, drawings, and technical specifications that support safe and efficient designs
  • Support Engineer of Record (EOR) mandates, dam safety reviews, and risk assessments
  • Manage or contribute to project delivery including scope, schedule, budget, and quality control
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting proposals and technical approaches
  • Oversee or participate in site investigations, construction quality assurance (CQA), and field monitoring programs
  • Mentor and guide junior and intermediate engineers, strengthening team capability and knowledge sharing

  • Demonstrated experience with tailings dams, waste rock piles, heap leach pads, or similar facilities
  • Strong understanding of Canadian regulatory frameworks and dam safety guidelines
  • Proficiency with geotechnical analysis software such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, FLAC, or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience supporting or acting in a deputy Engineer of Record capacity is an asset
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Canada as needed
Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $194,700 - $257,900
MB & ON: $177,600 - $244,600
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $175,800 - $233,500
