Our culture is defined by curiosity, collaboration, and challenge. We maintain strong intellectual curiosity about our markets, competitors, and customers. We hold ourselves to a high standard of collaboration and accountability within our team and with our partners across the business. And we are not afraid of challenge as we work within Workday to support the Chapter Four transformation and adapt our own ways of working and thinking to this new model.

As a Senior Principal on the Competitive and Market Intelligence team, you will be a foundational member of our Research Excellence pillar, responsible for building, executing, and maintaining the programs and infrastructure that power our customer focus and self-service model.

  • Translating win-loss findings into actionable insights and delivering them to key partners and decision-makers throughout the business
  • Designing and activating market intelligence systems, including dashboards, reporting, and self-service tools that enable partners to access the insights they need, when they need them
  • Building and maintaining the research infrastructure that supports scalable, repeatable, and high-quality competitive and market intelligence

About You

Basic Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of experience in competitive intelligence or market intelligence in an enterprise environment.
  • 12+ years of experience in market research, strategy, or a related analytical discipline.
  • 10+ years of professional experience within a software as a service focused organization.

Other Qualifications:
  • Experienced in applying both quantitative and qualitative methodologies for systematic research planning, execution, and analysis, with the ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured, actionable research frameworks that yield clear insights.
  • Skilled in managing complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through delivery, including upward management, managing internal clients and partners, and allocating team resources to balance priorities and deliver results on time.
  • Strong communicator with a focus on clarity and impact, including experience with bottom-line-up-front writing, structured communication frameworks, visual presentation of quantitative data, executive-level presentations, meeting facilitation, and conducting interviews.
  • Committed to fostering a collaborative team environment, including giving and receiving feedback openly, having a positive impact on the people around you, and contributing to team leadership and the growth of colleagues.
  • Experienced in cross-functional leadership and building productive relationships with internal partners, with a consistent focus on understanding their needs and delivering measurable impact.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
