Job DescriptionOverview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Power System Study Engineer to perform advanced grounding, lightning protection, bus, and induction studies for utility, industrial, and renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using tools such as CDEGS and WinIGS, and a strong foundation in electromagnetic transient analysis. This role involves interpreting system configurations, creating accurate models, and delivering high-quality technical reports to support project engineering and safety compliance.
Your roleConduct grounding system design and analysis, including grid resistance, touch/step voltage, and fault current distribution.
Perform lightning protection studies, surge analysis, and shielding assessments.
Execute induction studies for overhead lines and pipelines to evaluate AC interference and mitigation strategies.
Model and analyze bus configurations for short-circuit, thermal, and electromagnetic performance.
Utilize software tools such as CDEGS, WinIGS, and optionally PSCAD or EMTP to simulate and analyze power system phenomena.
Generate detailed technical reports, calculations, and drawings.
Coordinate with project managers, utilities, and clients to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE 80, IEEE 665, NESC, NEC).
Support multidisciplinary teams in substation, transmission, and industrial facility design.
About youMaster’s degree in Power Systems or Electromagnetics.
Proficiency in CDEGS (certification is an asset).
3+ years of experience in power system studies with a focus on grounding, lightning, and induction.
Experience with WinIGS required; familiarity with PSCAD, ETAP, or PSS/E is a plus.
Familiarity with HVDC, FACTS, or renewable integration studies is a plus.

Additional informationExpected compensation for this role is between $100,200 - $137,700 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
