Job Description:

The Senior Portfolio Analyst supports the delivery of an exceptional advisor and client experience by serving as a liaison between Trading Operations and client-facing business partners. This role researches complex operational inquiries, coordinates timely and equitable issue resolution, and helps ensure new products, services, and operational changes are successfully implemented. The Senior Portfolio Analyst partners closely with Client Experience, Product Management, Compliance, Portfolio Management, and Trading Operations to improve operational readiness, strengthen communication, and continuously enhance advisor outcomes. This role will be based in Phoenix or Charlotte and will follow a hybrid schedule that includes both in-office and remote work.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Phoenix, AZ or Charlotte, NC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary operational partner to Client Experience and other client-facing teams by researching advisor inquiries, operational questions, and trading-related concerns.
  • Investigate complex operational issues by coordinating across Trading Operations, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Portfolio Management, Custody, and other business partners to identify root causes and drive timely resolution.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and consistent operational responses that support fair and equitable client outcomes.
  • Track advisor issues and operational requests through completion while ensuring timely communication and follow-up with internal partners.
  • Identify recurring operational themes and recommend opportunities to improve advisor experience, operational processes, and service delivery.
  • Represent Trading Operations during product launches, strategic initiatives, and business projects by evaluating operational readiness and identifying implementation risks.
  • Coordinate operational readiness activities including business process reviews, operational impact assessments, documentation updates, training support, and go-live preparation.
  • Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, knowledge articles, and operational job aids.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by validating operational workflows, documenting results, and communicating production readiness observations.
  • Support change management efforts by helping operational teams successfully adopt new workflows, systems, and processes.
  • Monitor operational trends and advisor feedback to proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce operational friction, and strengthen the overall client experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of trading operations, managed account platforms, and advisor servicing.
  • Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across Operations, Client Experience, Product, Engineering, Investments, and Compliance.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience documenting SOPs, workflows, and business requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or Salesforce preferred.

Education & Experience:

  • 4–7 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, investment operations, or related operational support.
  • Experience supporting client-facing organizations or product implementation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or equivalent experience.
  • Industry certifications such as Series 7, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP preferred.

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $77,000-$95,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
