Full Job Description
Objective of Role:

LaSalle is currently seeking a Senior Portfolio Accountant on one of our open end debt funds under LaSalle Debt Investors (LDI). This individual will serve in a lead role to help manage a significant portion of the accounting and reporting process for one or more of our debt portfolios utilizing Fair Value GAAP. This individual will report to the Portfolio Controller and play a critical role in financial analysis, reporting, and process optimization.

Accountabilities:
  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes
  • Assist in preparing consolidation files for use in quarterly reporting
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Identify and lead AI-driven process improvement projects across the accounting and reporting cycle, including automating recurring tasks and building efficiencies in financial statement preparation
  • Review monthly financials and NAV packs provided by accounting administrator
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual reporting requirements, as well as tax requirements
  • Coordinate with LaSalle Treasury to execute cash transactions (investor subscriptions, investor distributions, invoice payments, quarterly fees etc)
  • Quarterly financial analysis, including review of investment accounting information
  • Calculate, analyze and report performance returns
  • Respond to client inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
  • Create efficiency in and effectiveness of the financial reporting process as well as improve client services
  • Take initiative in identifying problems and providing suggested solutions
  • Assist with special projects as assigned


Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred - Candidate will be expected to achieve CPA in order to qualify for future progression
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think creatively and independently develop solutions to problems
  • Effectiveness in reviewing own work to achieve high levels of accuracy
  • Extremely organized multi-tasker with great attention to detail
  • Team player who works well independently as well as with others
  • Ability to work effectively with off-site managers and clients
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting concepts
  • Must be willing to work extra hours, whether early or late, when necessary
  • Strongly proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, and working knowledge of AI tools (either in a work or home context) with a demonstrated interest in applying them in a professional context
  • Openness to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technology environment; willingness to evaluate, pilot and champion new AI tools as part of the team's ongoing process improvement agenda
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States

Estimated compensation for this position:

110,000.00 - 115,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
