Senior Platform Engineer to build, own, and extend our cloud foundations. Reporting to the Platform Team Tech Lead, you will act as a primary architect for the infrastructure that supports our AI, software, and data products.
This role blends traditional platform engineering (faster builds, safer deploys, robust infrastructure) with the systems required to ship and verify AI-native features in a high-compliance healthcare environment. You will have the autonomy to shape how a modern engineering organization builds software, acting as a force multiplier for our entire technical team. This is a Full-Time Hybrid opportunity based in San Francisco, California.
What You'll Do:Data Pipelines & System of Record- Own the Data Foundation: Be the point person for the pipelines and integrations that ingest, reconcile, and maintain first- and third-party data.
- Orchestrate Workflows: Contribute to our data orchestration layer, ensuring that ETL pipelines and data workflows are reproducible, traceable, secure, and isolated for multi-tenant environments.
- Enhance Observability: Build and improve observability and monitoring across infrastructure, applications, and data systems.
Cloud Infrastructure & Security- Own the Cloud Foundation: Operate, evolve, and architect our AWS-based cloud environment, balancing reliability, security, cost, and developer velocity as we scale.
- Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain scalable infrastructure using Terraform, establishing robust approaches to state management.
- Harden Environments: Lead the technical implementation of cloud security and compliance requirements (HIPAA), embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle.
Developer Experience & CI/CD- Accelerate Engineering: Own the build tooling and CI/CD workflows that move code from idea to production. Make builds faster, tests more reliable, and releases seamless.
- Build AI-Native Tooling: Create systems for automated development, bug triage, and validation. Design verification environments that test product behavior across agents, workflows, and customer-like scenarios before reaching production.
- Turn Friction into Leverage: Partner with product and engineering teams to identify repeated bottlenecks and turn them into reusable abstractions and durable platform primitives.
What You'll Bring- Experience: 5+ years of full-time experience in backend, platform, product infrastructure engineering.
- Engineering Fundamentals: Strong coding abilities with deep expertise in Python. You will use Python exclusively to build our backend systems, internal platform tooling, and data orchestration logic.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Deep expertise designing and operating production environments on AWS and mastering Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
- AI-Native Mindset: You actively use AI tools, understand how they change software development, and possess strong instincts for where they can compress engineering cycles.
- Security-First Approach: A track record of hardening cloud infrastructure and supporting security compliance initiatives, ideally within healthcare or enterprise SaaS.
- Product Taste: You care deeply about developer experience and have strong instincts for building tools, CI/CD pipelines, and shared architecture that engineers actually want to use.
