Role Summary

Owns the firm’s Planview platform and related portfolio management capabilities. This role is responsible for setting the product vision, roadmap, and adoption strategy to support enterprise planning, investment governance, resource management, business case development, and strategic execution.

The role applies deep knowledge of portfolio management practices, enterprise planning processes, and technology platforms to define business requirements, prioritize enhancements, and maximize the value delivered through Planview. This individual ensures Planview capabilities align with business objectives and strategic priorities while maintaining a scalable, effective, and well-governed platform.

Working closely with senior leaders, business stakeholders, technology teams, and vendors, this role evolves portfolio management capabilities, strengthens governance, improves decision-making, and increases transparency into investment and execution outcomes. The role also drives adoption of standardized planning and reporting practices and communicates roadmap progress, adoption trends, performance metrics, and business value to executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Product Vision and Strategy:

  • Develop and maintain the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for Planview and related portfolio management capabilities.
  • Define strategic priorities, enhancement opportunities, and adoption plans aligned to organizational goals.
  • Evaluate industry trends and best practices in portfolio management, resource management, and strategic planning.
  • Balance business priorities, technical sustainability, and user experience in roadmap decisions.

Platform Ownership and Governance:

  • Serve as the business owner for Planview capabilities, configuration, and governance.
  • Establish standards for portfolio management processes, data quality, reporting, and platform usage.
  • Ensure alignment across planning, prioritization, funding, execution, and value realization practices.
  • Oversee governance for enhancement requests, release management, and platform changes.

Product Management and Delivery:

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for Planview enhancements and capabilities.
  • Define business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with technology teams and vendors to deliver platform enhancements and new capabilities.
  • Support release planning, testing, training, communications, and change management.

Stakeholder Leadership and Partnership:

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across business, technology, finance, governance, and portfolio management teams.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and build alignment on roadmap priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with enterprise planning, finance, governance, and strategy teams to drive consistent processes and reporting.
  • Communicate platform strategy, funding needs, risks, opportunities, and progress to executive sponsors.

Data, Reporting, and Business Value:

  • Oversee reporting, dashboards, and analytics supported through Planview.
  • Ensure data integrity across portfolio, resource, project, and financial information.
  • Define and track metrics to measure platform adoption, data quality, operational effectiveness, and business value.
  • Deliver insights that improve portfolio visibility, investment decision-making, resource planning, and strategic alignment.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities that enhance planning effectiveness and business outcomes.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management, program management, strategy execution, business management, or related fields.
  • Experience leading enterprise platforms or business applications with multiple stakeholder groups of a similar size and scope.
  • Experience with portfolio management, resource management, financial planning, or strategic planning processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience serving as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Platform Owner for Planview or a related product.
  • Experience with enterprise portfolio management (PPM) and strategic planning disciplines.
  • Experience supporting annual planning, funding governance, business case management, and resource planning.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and prioritizing product backlogs.
  • Experience defining and measuring business value realization.
  • Experience supporting enterprise transformation and strategic execution initiatives.
  • Experience in the investment management or financial services industry.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$122,000.00 - $209,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$135,000.00 - $230,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$153,000.00 - $261,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role.  Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
