Job Description:

The Engineering Planner plays a crucial role in coordinating and managing engineering projects, ensuring material availability, and supporting build plans. This position requires strong collaboration with project teams, PMs, engineering, and supply chain stakeholders while maintaining a high level of system knowledge and adaptability to uncertainty in builds, BOMs, and routing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with project teams, PMs, and engineering teams to understand program requirements.
  • Manage End-of-Life (EOL) and dormant items, ensuring appropriate inventory disposition.
  • Maintain high-level system knowledge (AX, Agile, etc.) and oversee BOM structure support (Coverage Group, MRP settings, WHs).
  • Set up and manage intercompany processes, facilitating collaboration across factories/groups.
  • Navigate uncertainty in builds, BOM structures, and routing, ensuring adaptability.
  • Oversee engineering BOMs, item creation, and adoption in AX, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Execute intracompany warehouse transfers for effective material flow.
  • Conduct inventory status reviews and disposition in coordination with quality and engineering teams.
  • Host Engineering Collaborative Meetings, fostering alignment across departments.
  • Ensure material availability to support engineering and prototype builds.
  • Act as a communication bridge between the production floor and production planning teams.
  • Maintain high-level business/site knowledge to align engineering operations with company objectives.
  • Exhibit strong leadership, including the ability to push back, negotiate, and collaborate effectively.
  • Apply critical thinking and scepticism to engineering planning and decision-making processes.
  • Possess or develop technical and engineering knowledge, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Foster strong relationships with the engineering buyer function to ensure material availability.
  • Define and manage MBOMs with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
  • Oversee build plan management, interfacing with production planning and setting priorities.
  • Support forecasting, including risk buys and predictive inventory management.
  • Coordinate sales order confirmation, ensuring alignment with engineering and production needs.
  • Manage inventory disposition and lifecycle tracking.
  • Lead engineering change control, ensuring timely updates and approvals.
  • Oversee AX system settings updates, including safety stock adjustments, transaction agreements, and revision updates.
