Description

Our SE Region is seeking experienced Pipeline Engineers to sit in either our Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC offices and be responsible for oversight of pipeline engineering and consulting services for clients across the US. Main responsibilities include leading others in creating pipeline design deliverables. Projects range in size and complexity from small utility distribution upgrades to large transmission projects. This position can influence the growth and success of the Pipelines group. Opportunities to advance into leadership roles are available.

Pipeline Engineer may include full or partial responsibility for the following assignments:
  • Lead in the execution of engineering activities:
  • Pipeline design, including plans, profiles, details, and associated bill of materials
  • Coordination to obtain survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition
  • Calculations for studies and reports
  • Material and equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing
  • Lead in preparation of proposals and scope development, including:
  • Conceptual designs and execution plans
  • Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules
  • Lead coordination of design activities with other disciplines (Pipeline Facilities, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, etc.)
  • Develop and improve processes, tools, and/or factory acceptance testing
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members
  • Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel
  • Provide short-term field support during construction
  • Support business development and marketing initiatives

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET ABET-accredited program
  • Minimum of 7 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)
  • Professional Engineer registration is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8. Familiarity with 49 CFR Part 195 and ASME B31.4 is a plus
  • Strong preference for those with:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Capability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures and criteria
