About this opportunity:

As a Senior Performance & Reporting Analyst, you will lead through influence, ensuring alignment across key stakeholders. This role requires close collaboration with Downstream leadership, the Downstream Business Office, refinery manufacturing finance teams, as well as corporate planning and reporting functions. A critical component of success is building and maintaining strong relationships across downstream operations, finance teams, and performance networks. You will be responsible for establishing robust governance over financial processes at individual manufacturing sites while supporting business stakeholders in gathering, consolidating, and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. This role also involves identifying, planning, and implementing strategic finance improvements aimed at enhancing analytical quality, reducing reporting duplication, increasing productivity, and improving reporting cycle times-ultimately driving greater operational efficiency.

What you'll do:
  • Support the development of Performance Management Reporting ("PMR") the downstream leadership and executive reporting packages, including building PMR and forecast data models
  • Provide oversight of consolidated Downstream data across sites and commercial operations, including actuals, forecasts, and budgets
  • Perform monthly and quarterly margin analysis, delivering insights and clear narratives for downstream leadership
  • Analyze and reconcile benchmark and configuration performance against realized results, quantifying key operational and market drivers
  • Maintain and enhance financial models and reporting tools, partnering with commercial accounting to produce P&L reporting and price-volume variance analysis
  • Coordinate Downstream Asset Retirement Obligation reporting and contribute to quarter-end external reporting deliverables
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests, conducting detailed analysis and presenting findings to stakeholders
  • Apply strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP to support accurate financial reporting and analysis

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, commerce, economics, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance and reporting
  • CPA designation would be considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP, with a CPA designation required
  • Advanced analytical capabilities with experience developing automated, standardized, and scalable reporting processes
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and enhancing reporting quality and efficiency
  • Prior experience in refining and a strong understanding of downstream operations and manufacturing environments is considered an asset
