We're hiring a Senior PCB Designer at our San Diego, CA location! Join a stable, long-term opportunity where your work matters. We're hiring a Senior PCB Designer to support production and ensure high-quality output in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Pay Range - $95,000.00 to $123,852.00 annually (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills.) Exempt: Yes Safety Sensitive: No GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Under limited direction, independently performs advanced PCB design and engineering support activities requiring the application of specialized technical knowledge in electronic circuit design, signal integrity, manufacturability, and product development. Serves as a technical lead on complex projects, exercising significant discretion and independent judgment in developing PCB design solutions, evaluating design alternatives, and resolving technical challenges that impact product performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline preferred. Advanced technical knowledge in PCB design, signal integrity, and electronic product development required. Equivalent combination of advanced education and progressively responsible technical experience may be considered. 6+ years of experience as mechanical drafter/designer or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Electronic or telecommunications industry preferred. Advanced knowledge of drafting techniques, CAD software, design rules, procedures and documentation systems required. Proficiency in one or more PCB CAD tools (Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/or CAD, Siemens Xpedition, or KiCad). AutoCAD/Inventor or SolidWorks preferred. Preferred IPC CID/CID+ certification. Ability to apply advanced knowledge of practical, mechanical and fabrication problems. Able to interact with customers on a limited basis. High-speed routing and controlled impedance design. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Independently develops PCB design solutions and technical implementation plans for complex electronic products, determining layout methodologies, routing approaches, and design strategies to meet engineering and customer requirements.
  2. Uses databases and/or software programs, such as CAD/CAM software, to post and update transactions, design complex packages, data conversion, prepare artwork and otherwise support design functions.
  3. Performs advanced technical analyses involving signal integrity, impedance control, manufacturability, reliability, and product performance. Evaluates design trade-offs and implements solutions requiring significant independent technical judgment.
  4. Functions as a technical lead on assigned projects, providing design direction, technical guidance, project coordination, and engineering support to achieve product development objectives.
  5. Demonstrates creativity in meeting design rules to accomplish a given design.
  6. Assumes technical ownership of assigned PCB designs from concept through release, making independent technical decisions and recommendations throughout the design lifecycle.
  7. Responsible for ensuring conformance to company quality system, working with an engineer, manager, or technical staff supervisor. Must be well versed with design rules, procedures, documentation systems, and related processes within the company.
  8. Provides technical mentorship, training, and professional development guidance to junior designers while promoting adherence to engineering standards and design best practices.
  9. Coordinates with other internal departments affected by design development.
