Job Description
The Payroll Specialist oversees biweekly and monthly payroll processing across multiple pay schedules, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. This role manages complex pay rules, maintains employee payroll records, supports payroll tax and year-end processes, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to improve payroll operations and data integrity in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
Responsibilities
  • Process biweekly and monthly payroll for multiple pay schedules, ensuring accurate calculation of overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, retroactive pay, and other complex pay rules.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, status changes, and compensation adjustments.
  • Review, audit, and reconcile payroll reports for accuracy, promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Assist with payroll tax filings and year-end processes, including preparation and support for W-2, 1099, wage garnishments, unemployment rates, and related reporting.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, benefits, and tax matters with professionalism, accuracy, and strict confidentiality.
  • Support payroll reconciliations, general ledger postings, and payroll reporting, partnering with corresponding stakeholders to ensure accurate data flow between teams and systems.
  • Provide audit support and documentation for internal and external reviews related to payroll and payroll accounting.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and overall payroll operations.
