What you will be responsible for:

The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing, a strong understanding of wage laws, and excellent organizational skills.

What You'll Do:
  • Process weekly and semi-monthly payroll for all employees, including salaried and hourly workers.
  • Ensure accuracy in timesheets, deductions, and payroll calculations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Handle payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, workers' compensation, and other payroll-related reports and adjustments.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with audits as necessary.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and best practices.
  • Set up and maintain employee personnel files.
  • Assist with registration in new states, as needed.


Skills & Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5-10 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in using various payroll platforms. NetSuite preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of California and multi-state payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and tax requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
