The Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity manages and enhances the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) which resides on one Oracle M8 Supercluster database and thirteen application servers. Our team provides the technical services required to sustain EDW applications to include Project Management, Data Warehouse Management, Advanced Analytics, Tableau Server Administration/Tableau Desktop Administration, Technical Collaboration Support, Lessons Learned, Executive Orders and Special Projects, Architectural Enhancement, and Cloud Migration. We also provide management, enhancement, integration, implementation, maintenance, modernization, and infrastructure support for EDW applications as well as enhancement and maintenance of business intelligence capabilities and predictive analytics.

9th Way Insignia is looking for a Senior Oracle GoldenGate Migration Engineer to join and lead this team.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Oracle GoldenGate Migration Engineer to support migration of the VA Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) from an on-premises Oracle environment to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) within the VA Enterprise Cloud environment. The selected candidate will lead the migration of Oracle GoldenGate from Classic Architecture to Microservices Architecture, configure secure connectivity between OCI-hosted GoldenGate services and on-premises source systems, and validate reliable, accurate data replication throughout the migration and stabilization period.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of Oracle GoldenGate from Classic Architecture to Microservices Architecture in OCI.
• Assess and document existing GoldenGate Extract, Pump, Replicat, trail, checkpoint, credential, parameter-file, and monitoring configurations.
• Design, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot GoldenGate Microservices components in the target OCI environment.
• Establish and validate secure hybrid connectivity between OCI-hosted GoldenGate services and on-premises source systems.
• Configure and maintain GoldenGate processes, endpoints, credentials, trails, monitoring, and replication parameters.
• Execute migration testing, replication validation, cutover rehearsals, deployment, rollback, and post-implementation stabilization activities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot replication lag, Extract/Replicat failures, network interruptions, data inconsistencies, mapping conflicts, duplicate transactions, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with OCI infrastructure, network/security, Oracle DBA, Informatica, and EDW technical teams to resolve dependencies and support migration readiness.
• Support OCI setup, configuration, provisioning, access/privilege planning, capacity planning, monitoring, and operational-readiness activities.
• Create and maintain technical designs, configuration documentation, test plans, validation evidence, cutover procedures, rollback procedures, and operations runbooks.
• Support change control, issue management, root-cause analysis, knowledge transfer, and production-readiness reviews.
• Follow applicable VA security, architecture, configuration-management, and change-control processes.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in hands-on Oracle GoldenGate administration, configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support experience.
• Direct experience migrating or upgrading Oracle GoldenGate from Classic Architecture to Microservices Architecture.
• Hands-on OCI implementation experience, including provisioning, configuration, deployment, or hybrid connectivity support.
• Experience supporting Oracle Database 19c environments.
• Strong SQL skills and practical understanding of Oracle transaction processing and replication behavior.
• Experience with migration testing, data validation/reconciliation, cutover planning, and rollback planning.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required VA suitability/access authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience deploying OCI GoldenGate while maintaining connectivity to on-premises Oracle source systems.
• Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle performance-tuning experience.
• OCI networking, IAM, vault/secrets management, logging/monitoring, compute, storage, and private/hybrid connectivity experience.
• Experience supporting high-volume data warehouses or other mission-critical enterprise data platforms.
• Informatica PowerCenter, ETL/ELT, automated data reconciliation, or test-automation experience.
• VA, VA Enterprise Cloud, federal, or regulated-environment delivery experience.
• Oracle GoldenGate and/or OCI certifications.

Salary Range

$98,153.18-$120,000 USD
