Full Job Description

The Senior Operations Training Specialist supports Operations by designing, delivering, and maintaining practical training solutions that improve employee capability, process adoption, and operational consistency. They partner closely with Operations leaders, subject matter experts, Talent Development, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs, SOP changes, system updates, and process improvements into effective learning experiences. Tricon's business is fast-changing and never stops changing — the Senior Operations Training Specialist is able to stand up new training content quickly, and just as quickly revise, adapt, or retire that content as SOPs, systems, and priorities shift. They have strong initiative, change agility, and stakeholder influence to build alignment, accelerate adoption, and keep learning solutions responsive in a rapidly evolving operational environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein.  Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.

  • Design and Develop Learning Content: Design, develop, and maintain effective training materials — including facilitator guides, job aids, process guides, knowledge checks, and scenario-based exercises — applying adult learning principles to keep training clear, relevant, and engaging. Build across modalities such as ILT, vILT, eLearning, blended, and microlearning, using tools like Articulate 360, Camtasia, Canva, LMS platforms, and AI-enabled tools.Create content that is not only accurate and practical, but also compelling, easy to adopt, and adaptable across changing business conditions.

  • Translate and Simplify Complex Content: Translate complex processes, SOPs, system workflows, and business requirements into practical, easy-to-understand learning content. Ensure training materials are accurate, current, user-friendly, and aligned with approved Operations processes and standards.Tailor messaging for different audiences and levels of change readiness so learners understand both what is changing and why it matters.

  • Training Delivery, Design and Materials: Facilitate engaging in-person, virtual, and hybrid training sessions for new hires and existing employees on Operations processes, SOPs, tools, systems, and role-specific workflows. Provide coaching, clarification, and learner support during and after training to reinforce understanding and improve adoption. Use confident, audience-aware facilitation to build engagement, credibility, and momentum around new ways of working.

  • Manage Training Projects and Priorities: Lead and manage multiple Operations training initiatives simultaneously — owning intake, prioritization, timelines, stakeholder coordination, and execution from planning through post-launch reinforcement — while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Coordinate logistics across virtual, hybrid, and in-person learning experiences, and manage vendors and external partners as needed. Maintain urgency, sound judgment, and forward momentum while shifting between competing priorities and ambiguous conditions.

  • Effective Trainer Traits: Demonstrate emotional intelligence, critical thinking, adaptability, and a genuine investment in trainee success. Bring confidence, presence, and initiative to drive learner trust, stakeholder confidence, and sustained adoption.

  • Business Initiative & Project Training: Design and deliver training in support of business initiatives, system rollouts, and cross-functional projects — not just SOPs — to ensure teams can rapidly adopt and sustain change in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Help generate buy-in for new initiatives by communicating clearly, connecting training to business outcomes, and reinforcing the value of change.

  • Training Decisioning and Prioritization: Apply a structured decisioning framework to determine whether a given change requires training, communication, or documentation only, and use an objective, tiered prioritization model to focus effort on the highest-impact needs first. Build and maintain content in a way that supports fast development up front and equally fast revision, refresh, or retirement as SOPs, systems, and business priorities continue to change. Make timely, practical decisions with imperfect information and adjust direction quickly as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to translate complex processes, SOPs, and system workflows into clear, practical training content.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapts readily to changing business and training needs.

  • Builds momentum and maintains effectiveness amid ambiguity, shifting priorities, and frequent change.

  • Ability to develop training content quickly, and to just as quickly revise, adapt, or retire that content as SOPs, systems, and business priorities change.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common training, collaboration, and communication tools.

  • Including Articulate 360, Camtasia, Canva, LMS platforms, and AI-enabled tools.

  • Comfort learning and training others on Operations systems, platforms, applications, and process workflows.

  • Ability to support learners with system navigation and process application, while partnering with technical teams for deeper troubleshooting when needed.

  • Customer service orientation with a commitment to helping employees build confidence, improve skills, and succeed in their roles.

  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, adaptability, critical thinking, and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Strong influence and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to build alignment and drive adoption across field and corporate audiences.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly, persuasively, and with appropriate urgency.

  • High level of initiative and comfort operating in ambiguity, with the ability to move work forward quickly without waiting for perfect conditions.

  • Ability to adapt facilitation, messaging, and change approach based on audience needs, resistance points, and business context.

  • Demonstrated ability to champion new ideas, training approaches, and process improvements that enhance engagement and adoption.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Organizational Development, Communications, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience with property management software or related operational systems.

  • Certification or coursework in training, instructional design, adult learning, talent development, change management, or relevant software applications.

  • Experience supporting process change, system implementations, new hire onboarding, or role-based training programs.

  • Experience measuring training effectiveness and using feedback or data to improve learning solutions.

  • Experience influencing without direct authority across cross-functional stakeholder groups.

  • Experience leading training or enablement efforts during periods of rapid change, transformation, or growth.
