An experienced OpenShift Administrator
The Work:
OpenShift Platform Operations
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters deployed on-premises (bare-metal / VMware) and in Microsoft Azure (ARO - Azure Red Hat OpenShift).
- Perform cluster lifecycle management including upgrades, patching, node scaling, and certificate rotation with minimal disruption to production workloads.
- Monitor cluster health using OpenShift built-in tools, Prometheus, Grafana, and enterprise observability stacks; respond to and resolve platform-level incidents
- Manage OpenShift networking components including SDN/OVN-Kubernetes, routes, ingress controllers, and network policies.
- Administer OpenShift storage integrations (OCS/ODF, persistent volumes, storage classes) for stateful workloads
- Enforce RBAC, security context constraints (SCC), and image policy controls aligned to client security standards.
Deployment & DevOps Support
- Support CI/CD pipeline integrations with OpenShift (Tekton Pipelines, ArgoCD / OpenShift GitOps, Jenkins)
- Collaborate with application and DevOps teams on containerization best practices, Helm chart management, and Operator lifecycle management (OLM).
- Maintain and improve Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using Ansible, Terraform, or OpenShift/Kubernetes manifests.
- Participate in change management processes; ensure all platform changes meet lead-time requirements and are communicated proactively to client stakeholders.
Multi-Cloud Kubernetes (Advantageous)
- Support or advise on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) cluster operations including node pool management, Azure AD integration, and Azure CNI/policy add-ons.
- Provide operational support for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) environments including Autopilot/Standard cluster management and GCP IAM integration.
- Contribute to cross-platform standardization efforts for observability, security, and GitOps practices across OpenShift, AKS, and GKE.
Technical Skills
- Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 4.x - cluster installation, upgrade, and day-2 operations.
- Kubernetes core concepts: workloads, services, ingress, RBAC, namespaces, custom resources, and operators.
- Networking: OVN-Kubernetes, load balancers, DNS, TLS/certificate management.
- Storage: OCS/ODF, CSI drivers, persistent volume provisioning.
- Monitoring & logging: Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch/Loki, OpenShift cluster logging operator.
- Scripting and automation: Bash, Python, Ansible.
- Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform or equivalent.
- Source control and GitOps: Git, ArgoCD / OpenShift GitOps.
- Container image management: Quay, OpenShift internal registry, image scanning
This role will require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Hiring locations: Tampa, Orlando or Columbus.Here's what you need:- A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience administering Red Hat OpenShift in production enterprise environments including demonstrated experience with OpenShift on-premises deployments (bare-metal, VMware vSphere, or IPI/UPI installations).
- A minimum of 5 year of experience with Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) or OpenShift deployments in Microsoft Azure cloud.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
Bonus points if:- Strong background supporting large, complex client environments with high availability and compliance requirements (healthcare, financial services, or similar regulated industries preferred).
- Experience with Linux system administration (RHEL/CoreOS) and container runtime fundamentals.
