Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a highly motivated transportation specialist to join our Multi modal Assessment Support team as an Ocean Transportation Analyst at US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Headquarters, Scott Air Force Base, IL. This is exciting, mission oriented work with impact on USTRANSCOM's ability to leverage commercial transportation capacity to help fulfill our Armed Forces' global movement requirements. This position is located in Scott AFB, IL.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Provide commercial sealift expertise to facilitate collaborative planning among Department of War (DoW), Department of Transportation (DoT), and commercial ocean carriers
Assess availability of commercial capacity and merchant marine readiness to align resources with DoW and national requirements
Provide analytical, technical, and administrative support in facilitating maritime transportation initiatives and concepts (e.g., Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement, Voluntary Tanker Agreement, Maritime Security Program, Tanker Security Program, Port Readiness programs)
Analyze economic indicators and influences on the commercial sealift transportation industries that USTRANSCOM relies upon, and provide recurring assessments of impacts to available capacity
Collect, analyze, and articulate lessons learned from operations and exercises
Coordinate and work with multiple DoW and interagency organizations to reach consensus
Participate in and lead inter organization planning meetings and cross functional teams

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

US Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
AS/AA degree from an accredited college or university with relevant experience OR eight years of experience in transportation or logistics
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
Experience utilizing desktop software including Microsoft Office (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Teams, Power Point, Access, SharePoint, etc.)
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
Active SECRET security clearance
BS/BA from an accredited college or university
Familiarity with DoW transportation policies and deployment processes, especially U.S. ocean transportation processes
Knowledge of DoW transportation systems and work within USTRANSCOM, Military Sealift Command, or U.S. Army Transportation Command
Working knowledge of naval architecture to enable technical assessment of commercial vessels for military utility
Background knowledge of statutes and regulations pertaining to the maritime industry (e.g., Jones Act, Maritime Security Act 2003, and cargo preference laws)
Ability to utilize commercially available / open source and DoW information to provide pertinent analysis to government program managers and senior leaders
Substantial knowledge of modal indicators to identify industry trends that affect commercial capacity available to support the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE)

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $70,800.00 $156,700.00.
