Full Job Description

Why this role

Most engineering roles hand you a slice. A product owner sets the 7what,8 a manager sets the 7how,8 and you build your piece inside someone else6s sprint. This is not that role.

We don6t build the product our customers log into 7 we build the factory that builds it, and the systems that detect the moment anything starts to break. When our tooling works, the entire organization finds and fixes customer problems faster. When it doesn6t, everyone feels it. That is the leverage of this role, and it is why the work sits at the center of how we run reliability.

You6ll be handed real business problems 7 often ambiguous, sometimes dropped on us overnight 7 and trusted to solve them end to end: shadow the people living the problem, prototype, write the architecture, socialize it with senior and executive leaders, then build it and operationalize it so the team can run it. You6ll work full-stack, fly independently, and own what you ship. You6ll build things that matter and get used across the entire company.

If optimizing a single bolt to a tenth of a millimeter for the next four months sounds like a good year, this isn6t your role. If you6d rather build the thing that gets to Mars, keep reading.

What you6ll do

  • Translate business into solutions 7 turn ambiguous business needs into architected, detectable, automatable systems 7 from whiteboard to prototype to production.

  • Extend our agentic AI platform 7 develop and grow our proprietary, cloud-hosted AI platform 7 including locally self-hosted models 7 that powers observability and automated issue detection across the organization.

  • Architect at enterprise scale 7 design 24/7, cross-region-resilient, business-critical tooling used by teams across the company.

  • Work across the organization 7 partner with other principal engineers, support, security, and platform teams to map how systems integrate (CRM / case data, endpoint and security telemetry, cloud infrastructure) and design for the real world environment.

  • Modernize high-risk pathways 7 re-architect legacy apps and processes into secure, controlled, self-service tooling with the right guardrails built in.

  • Own it end to end 7 including light, event-driven on-call for what you build.

  • Architect and implement enterprise-level observability automation solutions.

  • Lead design and integration of cross-environment telemetry data.

  • Develop resilient data collection and analytics pipelines.

  • Build self-service monitoring frameworks for internal teams.

  • Oversee CI/CD pipeline integration for observability tooling.

  • Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and development teams to drive performance visibility.

  • Lead performance tuning and incident resolution related to observability systems.

  • Contribute to security and compliance practices across observability tools.

  • Support, maintain, and resolve problems for custom features in live production systems, with occasional on call availability.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Typically requires a Bachelor6s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience

  • Expertise in software development and system integration for observability platforms

  • Advanced proficiency with monitoring frameworks and analytics tools

  • Proficient in at least one of the following languages C# (preferred) / Go

  • Able to consume and develop RESTful API web services

  • Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps toolchains

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure as code and event-driven automation

  • Proven track record designing observability systems in high-growth environments
