Job Description: About the unit: - PCU Cardiovascular (GT8) is a designated step-down unit for patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgical procedures including coronary bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Pericardial window, device explanation and laser lead extraction. We also care for thoracic surgeries including esophagogastrostomy, lung resection, as well as thoracic and abdominal aneurysm repairs.

Primary Job Responsibilities: - Oversees staff performance, manages staffing, hiring, orientation, and discipline, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Manages budgets and resources, maintains appropriate staffing and understands healthcare finance.
- Leads and supports performance and quality improvement initiatives, implements evidence-based practice changes, and ensures compliance with professional standards and hospital policies.
- Utilizes critical thinking and technology in decision-making, problem-solving, and integrating new systems to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Provides strong leadership and mentorship, ensures high-quality clinical care, supports staff development, and maintains clear communication and planning for patient care delivery.
- Encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and maintains positive relationships with patients, staff, vendors, and other departments to ensure patient-centered care.
