Position Title: Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator

Location: Hill Air Force Base, Utah

Clearance: This position requires an Active Secret Clearance

Position Summary

Command Cyber Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator to join our surge-funded team at Hill Air Force Base (AFB). This critical role is designed to significantly enhance the sustainment and security of IT systems by leveraging advanced automation expertise. The incumbent will be instrumental in streamlining Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and optimizing SolarWinds monitoring across diverse Microsoft, Linux, and Oracle environments, encompassing both hybrid and cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Automation Development & Implementation:\
• Design, develop, and implement robust automation workflows using advanced scripting and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, Bash, and API/JSON scripting.
• Automate critical IT processes including STIG compliance, system deployments, patch management, configuration management, and SolarWinds monitoring configurations for Microsoft, Linux, and Oracle systems.
• Integrate automation into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to enable agile deployments and continuous compliance.
• Actively work towards achieving and maintaining STIG compliance for Microsoft, Linux, and Oracle systems across private cloud and hybrid environments, with a focus on automating compliance efforts to achieve significant reductions in manual workload.
• Design, develop, and implement automated SolarWinds monitoring and reporting solutions, leveraging SQL queries and scripting, to enhance system health visibility and significantly reduce incident response times.

System and Compliance Optimization:
• Monitor network performance and system health to ensure high availability and responsiveness for all system users, performing necessary maintenance and troubleshooting to support network and system availability.
• Maintain and optimize system configurations for high availability, performance, and NIST/DoD compliance.
• Administer and enhance network and system security measures, ensuring adherence to DoD security standards and best practices.
• May monitor and test Web site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly and without interruption.
• Enhance system reliability and security by integrating robust automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines, minimizing system downtime, and ensuring continuous compliance with DoD security standards.

Cloud Migration Support:
• Provide expert support for cloud migration initiatives by automating infrastructure deployments and configurations using Terraform and other IaC tools, ensuring seamless and secure transitions to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

Documentation & Reporting:
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for all automation workflows, STIG processes, SolarWinds SQL automation, and disaster recovery plans.
• Develop and generate reports on automation efficacy, compliance status, and system performance.
• Ensure transparency, repeatability, and sustainability of automated processes through comprehensive documentation.

Education, Certification & Experience Requirements

Education Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field - experience can be substituted for
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in network and computer systems administration, with at least 3-5 years focused specifically on automation engineering
• Experience working within DoD environments highly preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Certification Required:
• CompTIA Security (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required:
• Proven expertise in automation tools and scripting languages (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, Bash, API/JSON).
• Demonstrated experience with STIG compliance and vulnerability management processes.
• Strong understanding of SolarWinds monitoring suite and experience with SQL for data extraction and reporting.
• Experience with Microsoft, Linux, and Oracle operating systems and databases.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (OCI, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and hybrid IT environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps principles.

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands
• Basic office work environment at government facility location
• Scheduled hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
• May require participation in a rotating schedule for off-shift and weekend work.
• On-call availability for critical escalations and emergency situations
