This senior-level role will serve as a multi-method NDT technical authority (ASNT Level III), leading welding and steel inspection programs while training and qualifying inspection personnel regionally and nationally.
The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing Atlas's steel and NDT capabilities by developing a highly qualified inspection team, expanding laboratory testing capabilities, and positioning the company to pursue premium inspection opportunities that are not currently within its qualifications. Success in this role will be measured by the growth and strength of the steel/NDT team, enhanced testing capabilities, and increased market access for specialized inspection services.
Core Responsibilities - Serve as senior NDT technical authority: procedure development, method oversight, and interpretation across UT, RT, MT, PT, incl. advanced methods (PAUT, TOFD)
- Oversee structural steel and welding inspection programs (AWS D1.1/D1.5, ASME B31.1/B31.3/B31.9, API 1104, ASME Sec V/VIII); inspect critical moment/shear connections, weld processes (SMAW, FCAW, SAW), and welder qualifications
- Train, qualify, and mentor NDT and inspection personnel per written practice (SNT-TC-1A), regionally and nationally
- Support radiation safety program compliance (RSO function) for RT operations
- Support QMS development and accreditation initiatives (ISO/IEC 17025, AASHTO, ISO 9001)
- Support build-out of steel and metallurgical laboratory testing capacity
- Coordinate inspection scopes with project engineers, clients, and subcontractors; carry client-facing PM responsibility
- Support business development: proposals, prequalification packages, and industry relationships

Additional Requirements- Ability to travel regionally and nationally as project needs require, including multi-week field assignments (estimated 25-40% travel during active deployments)
