Senior Mine Operations Supervisor

This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.

Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Mine General Foreman, a leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day mine site activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production at the Copper World Site.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Ensure all safety policies and company procedures are followed, MUST lead by example.
  • Enforces strict adherence to MSHA standards and environmental regulations; leads incident investigations.
  • Collaborates with drill and blast superintendent to coordinate drilling and blasting activities.
  • Supervises and coordinates loading and haulage activities.
  • Ensures forecasted tonnage and ore grade targets are achieved with mine plans and budgets.
  • Communicate work plans to crew supervisors, ensuring that they are prepared and knowledgeable of projects prior to implementation.
  • Manage performance evaluations and disciplinary actions for both supervisors, operators, and laborers.
  • Collaborates daily with mine maintenance, technical services, and processing to optimize equipment availability, utilization and operational flow.
  • Provided verbal and written reports to General Mine Foreman/Superintendent on daily progress (example: daily shift reports).
  • Identifies bottlenecks and implements strategies to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiencies.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
  • High School diploma / GED / associate's degree
  • 10+ years of mining experience, including 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Thorough knowledge of open pit mine production environment includes drilling, blasting, loading, and haulage.
  • Exposure to mine planning and mine maintenance planning
  • Experience supervising, managing, and optimizing the use of large heavy equipment for loading, haulage, and support equipment
  • Policy and standard operating procedures development experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Propeller, mine planning or fleet management software
  • Ability to work & multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and meet all other requirements of the job.

  • Possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, manage and grow the team

Employee will be expected to drive a company vehicle, rental vehicle and/or his/her own vehicle in the course of performing the job, Employee must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet. Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license.
