Job Description

Cetera is seeking a Microsoft 365 Engineer to support and enhance Microsoft 365 infrastructure for our Remote Administration program. This program delivers full-service managed IT solutions to independent firms within the Cetera network.
In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert and Global Administrator, managing a multi-tenant Microsoft 365 environment (MTO) while ensuring reliability, security, and continuous improvement of the platform. You will also partner closely with IT Operations to resolve complex issues and drive strategic enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Defender, Purview, Intune, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online
• Manage and optimize multi-tenant environments (MTO), including cross-tenant collaboration, identity synchronization, and governance
• Oversee endpoint provisioning and lifecycle management using Intune, Entra ID, and Windows Autopilot
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalated support using tools such as PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and admin portals
• Partner with IT Operations on projects, enhancements, and incident resolution
• Troubleshoot access and cloud service issues, ensuring end-to-end resolution and validation
• Drive platform improvements and changes through structured change management processes
• Maintain detailed documentation and knowledgebase resources

Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of overall IT experience
• 3+ years administering Microsoft 365 at a Global Administrator level
• Hands-on experience across core M365 services (Exchange, Entra ID, Teams, Intune, etc.)
• Experience managing multiple tenants (MTO, MSP, or multi-entity environments)

Preferred Skills & Experience:
• Strong experience managing Microsoft 365 native environments (Entra-joined devices, Intune MDM, Autopilot)
• Expertise in cross-tenant access, B2B collaboration, and tenant segmentation (administrative units, scope tags, security groups)
• Solid understanding of email flow and security integrations (e.g., Proofpoint)
• Proficient in PowerShell and automation for administration and troubleshooting
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
