Full Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Senior Microsoft 365 & Azure Cloud Engineer to lead our cloud

environment, drive complex system consolidations, and support broader enterprise IT operations.

In this role, you will serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for tenant-to-tenant (T2T) migrations and

integrations resulting from Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Beyond specialized acquisition integrations, you will serve

as a versatile technical leader-managing Azure cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365 security, Identity and Access

Management (IAM), and providing Tier 2/3 senior support across systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. M&A & Tenant-to-Tenant Migrations (Core Focus)

  • Architect, plan, and execute end-to-end M&A tenant migration strategies across Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online,
  • SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
  • Consolidate and streamline disparate Azure subscription models, cloud workloads, and virtual networks postacquisition.
  • Manage domain cutovers, MX record transitions, identity synchronization setups (Entra Connect / Cloud Sync), and
  • cross-tenant coexistence policies (Coexistence/GALsync).
  • Deploy and manage third-party and native migration tooling (e.g., Quest On Demand, BitTitan MigrationWiz,
  • ShareGate, or Microsoft Cross-Tenant tools).
  • Establish migration runbooks, cutover schedules, and fallback plans to eliminate business downtime during cutovers.


2. Azure & Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administration

  • Administer and optimize core Azure services (Virtual Machines, App Services, VNETs, Azure SQL, ExpressRoute,
  • VPN Gateways).
  • Configure and enforce M365 security posture: Conditional Access policies, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Entra ID
  • Governance, and Defender for Cloud / Office 365.
  • Oversee M365 tenant governance, license optimization, Microsoft Intune endpoint management, and AutoPilot
  • deployment profiles.
  • Drive automation across administrative workflows using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform /
  • Bicep).


3. General IT & Infrastructure Operations

  • Function as an escalation point (Tier 2/3) for complex enterprise issues across network, cloud services, active
  • directory, and application stacks.
  • Maintain hybrid Active Directory environments, Group Policy Objects (GPO), and foundational networking protocols
  • (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SaaS platforms, line-of-business applications, and security tools.
  • Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, architectural diagrams, and continuous M&A operational playbooks.


QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience administering M365 and Azure enterprise environments,
  • including at least 2+ years leading hands-on M&A tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • M365 & Cloud Ecosystem: Deep operational expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for
  • Business, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Migration Expertise: Proven record using migration suites such as Quest, BitTitan MigrationWiz, ShareGate, or
  • native Microsoft Cross-Tenant Mailbox/OneDrive/Domain migration capabilities.
  • Networking & Identity: Comprehensive understanding of DNS configuration, SAML 2.0, OAuth, Single Sign-On
  • (SSO), MFA, Conditional Access, and hybrid Directory topologies.
  • Automation: Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting for environment discovery, bulk user/data operations, and
  • API-driven reporting.
  • General IT Knowledge: Versatile technical capability spanning Windows/macOS endpoints, network infrastructure,
  • and general IT service management best practices.


Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • AZ-104: Azure Administrator MS-102: M365 Administrator Expert SC-300: Identity & Access Admin
  • Experience using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, or Ansible) in Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and agile project management concepts.
