Overview

Wrench Group | Growth & Performance Marketing | Location: Remote with 10%-20% Travel

If you love figuring out where to invest, how much to invest, and which mix of media will make the biggest impact in a local market, this may be the role for you.

Wrench Group is looking for an experienced Media Planner to develop local awareness strategies across a diverse portfolio of markets. You'll bring together traditional channels like broadcast TV, terrestrial radio, and OOH with CTV, streaming video, digital TV, and digital audio to build integrated media plans designed around the realities of each market.

This isn't about applying the same media formula everywhere. You'll dig into audience behavior, competition, seasonality, media consumption, cost dynamics, business needs, and local demand to determine the right strategy for each market.

Then you'll partner with our Media Buyer to turn that strategy into an executable, measurable media plan.

Please note: We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas needed now or in the future.

What's In It For Me?
  • Market Value Compensation with robust bonus potential
  • Unlimited PTO Plan
  • Health, Vision and Dental plans for you and your family to choose from
  • 401K Retirement Plan: company will match 30% up to the first 6% of your
    contributed amount
  • Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
  • Special Program Options: FSA, EAP, Legal Services, and Identity Theft
  • Working in a dynamic, collaborative, and fun environment
  • Coached and supported career growth through Wrench University

Responsibilities

What Will I Do?

Build Local Media Strategies
  • Develop integrated awareness strategies across broadcast TV, terrestrial radio, digital TV, streaming video, CTV, digital and streaming audio, OOH, and other high-reach channels.
  • Evaluate audience behavior, competitive activity, seasonality, media consumption, market costs, capacity, and business needs.
  • Recommend the right channel mix, investment level, reach, frequency, flighting, and timing for each market and service line.
  • Translate business objectives into clear media briefs and measurable plans.

Own Investment Planning & Forecasting
  • Build awareness investment plans by market, channel, audience, service line, and planning period.
  • Forecast reach, frequency, impressions, response, site traffic, branded search, lead contribution, and other business signals.
  • Partner with Finance, Regional Marketing, Paid Search, and Paid Social to align awareness spending with lead plans, promotions, capacity, and demand.

Turn Data Into Market Insights
  • Analyze local media consumption, audience behavior, competitive activity, historical results, search demand, social response, and seasonal patterns.
  • Identify awareness gaps, growth opportunities, market coverage needs, and investment risks.
  • Determine where the scale of traditional broadcast and the targeting capabilities of digital media should work together.

Measure, Learn & Adjust
  • Establish clear measurement expectations across traditional and digital channels.
  • Evaluate performance against the plan and recommend changes to investment levels, channel mix, audience, market coverage, or flighting.
  • Partner closely with the Media Buyer to translate strategy into trackable, executable buys.
  • Connect awareness strategy with Paid Search and Paid Social so upper-funnel investment supports downstream demand and conversion.

Qualifications

Do I Have What it Takes?

You're curious about why one market behaves differently from another. You can move comfortably between data and strategy-looking at audience behavior, competitive conditions, media costs, demand signals, and business needs and turning them into a clear recommendation.

You aren't committed to traditional media or digital media. You're committed to finding the right combination for the market and the business objective.

And you're comfortable answering the questions that matter: Where should we invest? How much? When? In which channels? What should we expect that investment to accomplish?

Ideally, you'll bring:
    • 10+ years of local media planning or integrated marketing planning experience across awareness and upper-funnel channels.
    • Experience developing media plans across broadcast TV, terrestrial radio, digital TV, streaming video, CTV, digital/streaming audio, and OOH.
    • A strong understanding of how traditional and digital channels work together-not as separate strategies.
    • Strong analytical, forecasting, and financial planning skills.
    • The ability to take complex market and performance data and turn it into a clear investment recommendation.
    • Confidence explaining media strategy, tradeoffs, and measurement to both marketing and non-marketing leaders.
    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, business, analytics, communications, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience.
