Full Job Description
The Senior Mechanical Project Manager will encompass a wide range of duties, some of which include managing labour, purchasing, supplier and subcontractor coordination, scheduling, financial ownership of individual projects, establishing and managing client relationships. If you are a clear communicator with strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, then this position is perfect for you.

Key Impact / Purpose

  • Leads project teams to deliver on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversees financial forecasting, scheduling, and resource management to mitigate risks and maximize efficiency.
  • Builds strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to support long-term partnerships and business growth.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate and contribute in estimating turnover, and pre-construction meetings.
  • Support the project Foreman by developing a strong working relationship and provide project execution guidance for assigned projects.
  • Effectively manage the labour workforce on your respective project.
  • Complete detailed and accurate monthly financial forecasting reports and participate in our project status review (PSR) meetings.
  • Build and strengthen subcontractor and supplier relationships; review contracts for scope, maintain productivity, quality, and costs and ensure the projects are completed in a manner that supports the overall strategic and operational objectives of the company.
  • Attend client and construction meetings as required and to disseminate the information to workforce, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Attending job site progress walks and monitoring progress and schedule.
  • Estimating and assisting in estimating if required.
  • Ensuring that Modern Niagara's safety standards are communicated and adhered to.
  • Participate in project reviews to foster the continuous process improvements.


Must haves:

  • 8-12 years experience in the construction industry in a Project Management capacity with a strong emphasis placed on Mechanical work.
  • Post-Secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interpret site and building plans and specifications.
  • Comfortable in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a proven track record of successfully prioritizing tasks based on demand and deadlines.
  • Results and solutions-oriented individual in addition to having strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced with, and a willingness to train and mentor team members.
  • A track record that clearly demonstrates effective leadership when interacting with multiple external clients.
  • Working knowledge of contract terms and conditions.
  • Fundamental understanding of project financial controls.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with frequent travel to site locations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Design/build experience is highly advantageous.


This is a new position. Expected annual compensation; $115,000 - $130,000
