SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERLocation: Graniteville, SCWork Type: OnsiteSalary: $100,000 - $130,000/yr (10% target annual variable compensation)Position Type: Permanent (Backfill)Relocation: Not eligibleSponsorship: Not availableJOB OVERVIEW:This role requires approximately 80% time on the production floor, 10% at desk on computer work, and 10% in meetings. The production floor environment involves high temperatures, high noise levels (hearing protection required), and working around moving equipment and heavy machinery.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Provide mechanical expertise across single and/or multiple areas of the plant• Lead continuous improvement and corrective action activities and projects• Provide technical support to internal customers• Manage projects including new machine installations and upgrades, ranging from $50K to $5M• Analyze project requirements, identify and address design parameter and engineering challenges to ensure solutions are implemented accurately, timely, and within budget• Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure on-time delivery of projects, meeting quality standards and within budget• Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements for all activities are observed and implemented• Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing systems, processes, and technologies; recommend modifications and enhancements to improve quality and/or efficiency• Serve as mechanical lead on projects through all phases including design, fabrication, implementation, testing (FAT), commissioning, and daily operationENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES:• Develop and manage engineering drawings using Autodesk products: AutoCAD Mechanical and Inventor• Create and finalize designs to meet project scope of work and safety requirements• Develop Bill of Materials and spare part requirements• Work closely with vendors and manage external contractors on installations• Conduct project and equipment risk assessments and implement safety countermeasures• Execute machine FAT, machine start-up, and commissioning activities• Manage Autodesk Vault for data managementREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Capital project management experience up to $5M• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling• Proficiency with Autodesk Vault for data management• Experience with machine FAT and commissioning• Heavy industrial plant engineering experience• Bill of Materials management experience• Equipment risk assessment capability• External contractor management experience---SCREENING QUESTIONS:1.
