Strategy Engineering & Consulting LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (15+ years' experience) to join our growing team. This role will support the design, procurement, and fabrication of equipment for onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities, as well as emerging renewable energy projects.

Job Overview/Summary:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to all phases of project execution - from conceptual design and detailed engineering to procurement support, fabrication, and field execution. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and vendors to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Contribute to conceptual engineering, FEED, and detailed design for onshore and offshore facilities (Greenfield and Brownfield).
  • Size, specify, and prepare datasheets for mechanical/process equipment (vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, blowers, utilities, etc.).
  • Develop technical specifications, requisitions, and bid evaluations for equipment packages.
  • Perform engineering calculations including hydraulics, relief/vent sizing, PSV and control valve sizing, tank venting, and supervision of pipe stress analysis.
  • Prepare and review P&IDs, flow diagrams, equipment layouts, and offshore modification permit packages (SFDs, SAFE charts, fire & gas layouts, permit letters).
  • Conduct engineering studies, hazard/risk assessments, debottlenecking analyses, API 14C compliance, and regulatory compliance checks (BSEE, USCG, ABS).
  • Prepare bid packages and review vendor drawings for compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with drafting/design teams to deliver accurate drawings and layouts.
  • Monitor and report progress against project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Support procurement, vendor interfaces, and regulatory submittals.
  • Perform site visits (onshore and offshore) to collect data, survey existing facilities, and support upgrades or modifications.
  • Provide assistance during construction, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct vendor shop inspections to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated designs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to planning and execution strategies.
  • Provide professional mentorship to junior engineers.


Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • B.S. or higher in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 15+ years of relevant oil and gas engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced); working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Strong analytical, detail-oriented, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work multiple projects, work overtime as needed, and travel 10% (typical) or as required by project.
