Mechanical Engineer for our
Automotive & Manufacturing Facilities Group, who develops innovative projects in a transformational and growth sector. ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities- Provides engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include HVAC, piping, plumbing and fire protection.
- Performs HVAC load calculations, ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations.
- Performs detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
- Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods.
- May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicate changes to the team.
- Supervises and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.
- Takes part in client contact and business development activities.
- Meets with clients to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.
- May write portions or all of the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates.
- Performs design work with REVIT.
- Develops engineering concepts and presentations.
- Coordinates work with other disciplines.
- Keeps current on new design methods and ideas.
- Travel required.
QualificationsWhat You'll Need on Day One:- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college program, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
- PE or PE-tracked preferred plus (5) five or more years of related practical experience is required.
- Experience with, and the ability to size HVAC equipment, duct and ancillary equipment, hydronic, utility piping systems, and plumbing systems.
- Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, and MicroStation preferred, as well as Microsoft Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience working on Automotive, Manufacturing, and Commercial projects is a plus.
- Good communication skills.
- Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international travel.
