Position Summary

The Senior Engineer will provide technical leadership for EPC/EPCM projects in the U.S. market. This role is responsible for ensuring engineering deliverables meet regulatory requirements, client specifications, and industry standards. The successful candidate will establish Lauren's technical presence in Houston, mentor engineering staff, and collaborate with Canadian leadership to deliver integrated solutions. This position requires a Professional Engineer licensed in Texas and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership
    • Develop and implement project execution plans and procedures.
    • Coordinate cross-discipline input for procurement and contract packages.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to support decision-making.
    • Manage scope changes, cost tracking, and schedule tracking.
    • Maintain action logs to ensure project schedules are met.
  • Engineering Design
    • Lead detailed engineering design activities (facility layouts, piping systems, equipment specifications).
    • Chair HAZOP and 3D model review meetings.
    • Review and approve deliverables such as calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings (e.g., P&IDs, plot plans, isometrics).
  • Technical Support
    • Provide technical expertise for RFQs, bids, and vendor/contractor coordination.
    • Approve QC documentation post-contract award.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards throughout the project.
  • Client Engagement
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Collaborate with clients to convey concepts and develop solutions.
    • Address deviations and secure necessary approvals.
  • Team Collaboration and Mentorship
    • Mentor junior engineers and interns to support professional development.
    • Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
    • Maintain design guidelines and encourage continuous learning.
    • Partner with leadership on recruitment, career progression, and resource management.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination
    • Collaborate with the Design Team for integrated engineering solutions.
    • Ensure documentation accuracy and proper archiving with Document Control.
    • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure cohesive execution.
    • Stamp and approve engineering drawings and documents to meet regulatory and company standards.


Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • 10-15 years of formal training and experience in leading engineering and technical teams in midstream Oil & Gas.
  • Experience with EPCM project delivery preferred but not required
  • Must be licensed as a professional engineer in the state of Texas.
  • Experienced with both greenfield & brownfield projects


Skills:
  • Superior project management and leadership skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers, project managers, site managers, and clients proactively
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project.

Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of pipeline design, construction, and commissioning practices.
  • Must be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices, etc. such as CSA Z662 and ASME B31.3

Abilities:
  • Must have a proven track record of accomplishment as an Engineer of Record on industrial projects and be capable of working with a team of engineers, designers, and support personnel
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
