Senior Mechanical Engineer, Energy Systems

Job Description

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Performing design and engineering work in various areas of the mechanical discipline. Most of the work will be related to heating, ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC); however, the candidate should also expect work in industrial piping, plumbing, central utility plants, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, steam systems, and fire protection.
  • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and details associated with mechanical engineering projects.
  • Developing conceptual designs and cost estimates for early stages of the project life cycle.
  • Creating design drawings utilizing Revit 3D design software.
  • Assessing and designing building ventilation systems based on requirements for heat removal in industrial spaces and maintaining indoor air quality.
  • Utilizing building modeling software to determine envelope heat gains/losses for HVAC equipment sizing.
  • Specifying mechanical equipment
  • Designing plumbing and building utility piping systems
  • Summarizing engineering results in written reports and/or presentations that are cohesive and of the highest quality.
  • Visiting job sites as required for projects involving upfit of existing systems. A mix of day trips and overnight domestic trips should be expected.
  • Adhering to the policies and standards set forth in the Ramboll's Project Execution Manual.
  • Promoting and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees by adhering to Ramboll's Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations.
