bout the role:
The customer is looking for a senior semiconductor equipment mechanical design engineer, preferably someone who has worked on ion implantation equipment, vacuum systems, wafer handling, or similar semiconductor tools.
Senior Mechanical Engineer with 8-10+ years of semiconductor capital equipment experience, specializing in ion implantation, vacuum chambers, wafer handling and precision motion systems. Strong hands-on CREO and Windchill experience with expertise in mechanical design, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFM/DFX, FEA and complex electromechanical assemblies. Experienced in end-to-end product development, design reviews, prototyping, testing and cross-functional collaboration with systems, electrical, controls, manufacturing and field service teams.
Minimum requirements: - Candidate with 4-5 years in the semiconductor domain.
- CAD with a minimum of 1 year of CREO experience.
- Experience with a PLM system
- Minimum BSME (bachelor's in mechanical)
Preferably: Experience with End station, Wafer handlings
Job Summary: - BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) with 10+ years' experience in Semiconductor tools.
- Lead mechanical design for key ion implanter subsystems:
- Process Chamber Modules, Beamline structures, Wafer handling, and Vacuum chambers.
- Own end to end development: Conduct Design reviews, apply robust mechanical engineering fundamentals including Design calculations, applying DfX principles, GD&T, Tolerance stacks.
- Execute hand calculations and basic FEA using CREO Simulate, ANSYS or similar applications to evaluate structural integrity, load capacity, and reliability.
- Perform detailed CAD work, design documentation, engineering drawings, and BOM management using CREO, AutoCAD, Windchill, Glovia.
- Develop precision motion mechanisms and complex electromechanical assemblies.
- Perform FEA/CFD (thermal, structural, modal) and validate via prototyping.
- Drive DFM/DFX, manufacturability improvements, reliability growth, and cost reduction.
- Define test requirements, coordinate execution, and document engineering test plans and reports for tooling and mechanical systems.
- Prepare, review, and approve detailed engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards.
