Job summary:

The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design and optimization of upgrades to critical physical plant systems (HVAC, lighting, BMS...etc.) across the Providence Health System's hospital portfolio. From a thorough documentation of the present state of assets, through their upgrades system wide, this position will help define the scope of upgrades to be undertaken, lead the design review of proposed projects and provide technical guidance to their implementation. The role will involve collaborating with the clients to deliver cost-effective and sustainable critical infrastructure designs for acute care healthcare facilities while still meeting the stringent requirements of those environments. The Senior Design Engineer will also assist in the oversight of, and provide ongoing input to, the vendors selected to do the ultimate upgrade implementation, serving as an "owner's engineer".

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the design and optimization of upgrades to critical infrastructure - such as central plant - for acute-care hospitals, including systems to be upgraded, cost, payback, and rough timelines.
  • Act as an owner's representative optimizing designs to maximize energy efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements- Create a system wide physical plant inventory, including equipment specifications and state, through an onsite data collection and aggregation of pre-existing equipment inventories.
  • Assist in contractor selection.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and calculations to ensure upgraded system performance meets client requirements.
  • Provide RFP/RFI assistance and response review, including helping to provide oversight on vendor supplied schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Review design plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as needed.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Design Engineer Sr Consultant position is $107,000.00 annually and the maximum salary for the Design Engineer Sr Consultant position is $180,000.00 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
