We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Tucson office. As a senior member of the mechanical team, you will supervise and coordinate the delivery of multidiscipline engineering design.
About the Role - Deliver mechanical engineering design according to required timeframes and standards by supervising the performance of mechanical engineers, reviewing deliverables and providing high level technical expertise
- Facilitate the purchase of appropriate equipment by specifying requirements and assisting procurement with the purchase of equipment
- Contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of mechanical engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing and approving mechanical capital cost estimates, recommending alternative approaches where possible
- Assist the development and review of relevant mechanical contracts by providing advice and input as required
- Issue drawings and other relevant information for construction by working with engineers and designers
- Motivate engineers and other project team members towards superior performance by supporting daily performance and providing ongoing mentoring and training
About You - Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8 years+ years in mechanical design engineering experience in a relevant industry, e.g. mining, mineral processing, materials handling, specifically gold and copper
- Must hold PE license for Arizona
- Ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner utilizing personal knowledge, external consultants and in-house experience
- Good knowledge of CAD and 3-D software and MS Office
- Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering
- Commitment to mentoring and coaching of personnel
- Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels
- Strong analytical skills
- Well-developed written and oral skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks for the design team and manage time effectively
