Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Responsible for preliminary design phase planning and execution of the mechanical, opto-mechanical, and electro-mechanical sub-system and system level integration and test planning. Including development and prototype test planning, structural verification planning, optical stability verification planning, electro-mechanical verification planning, mechanical ground support equipment design and development, and integration planning.
Qualifications - Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 25 years of relevant experience.
- Deep working knowledge of GSFC facilities and capabilities in support of the requested planning and execution.
- Close familiarity with the voice coil actuators that were used for the LRalph Scan Mirror System. Possess understanding of electromagnetic systems to support the design and analysis of a magnetic holding or latching mechanism.
