Job Description

Coffman Engineers is seeking a SeniorMechanical Engineer with a ten to fifteen years of experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.

The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a variety of projects involving HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and coordinating multifaceted projects. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform the following functions:
    • Design of HVAC and plumbing systems
    • Manage and design multiple concurrent projects
    • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings
    • Lead design team efforts
    • Manage project team for budget and schedule control
    • Develop fee and qualification-based proposals
  • Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards
  • Reading and preparing project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment .
  • Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities .
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred. Must understand database concepts. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
  • Conduct marketing/business development activities
  • Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
  • Ability to travel

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S) in Mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 10 to 15 years of experience
  • Experience with Load Calculation Software
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project Management experience and/or certifications
  • Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams
  • Experience with energy modeling is a plus
  • Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus
  • Active local industry involvement is a plus

Compensation and Benefits
  • Approximate Base Salary - 100k-150k based on experience
  • Salary will be determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.
  • Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
  • Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance
  • Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change)
  • 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution
