Senior Material PlannerAbout the Job: We are currently looking to hire a
Senior Material Planner!The Senior Material Planner is responsible for raw material and packaging purchases and inventories for a specified category to support finished goods production plans, minimize obsolescence and provide overall cost containment. The senior material planner communicates across the organization on changes or developments pertinent to their materials and is expected to engage with senior leadership on analyses and report out.
The role is a hybrid 3 days in office, based out of our corporate office in Broomfield, CO.
This role may be responsible for, but not limited to:- Overall responsibility for raw material and packaging procurement and inventory management
- Ensure overall MRP system (both within SAP and in external processes) is maintained and overall system planning is optimized. Conduct regular consistent reviews of all parameters and update based on new criteria.
- Lead & conduct material planning meetings with suppliers, ensuring all material plans are adequate from days of supply and obsolescence targets in the long and short term.
- Review supplier performance and ensure purchase orders are being completed on time and in full
- Develop packaging run out plans with information from project managers, supply planning team, marketing and suppliers to minimize obsolescence and meet project timelines.
- Participate in weekly supply planning team meetings with counterparts in finished good planning, deployment, forecasting and procurement to deliver key KPIs
- Track and report key KPIs - obsolescence, supplier inventory levels, service and others as appropriate
- Key linkages with Supply Planning, Procurement, Marketing, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Project Management, Finance, Quality and R&D
- Escalate issues with suppliers as they arise and partner closely with Procurement on fast resolution
- Take on additional projects as needed, including but not limited to ingredient changes, packaging updates, post-mortem analyses, proactive supply variability, and new product introductions
- Train and onboard new material planners and maintain SOPs to support ongoing growth of others
- Mentor teammates and cross functional partners as needed on processes and ways of working
- Identify problems within own responsibilities and across material planning and develop a root cause analysis plus corrective action
The base compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $112,000 commensurate with experience.
About You: Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, procurement, or related major
- 3-5 years of experience in supply chain
- In lieu of a degree, 2-3 additional years of experience in materials, production or procurement
- APICS certification preferred
- Parabola experience is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Advanced understanding of supply chain processes and safety stock optimization strategies.
- Advanced understanding of materials management & supplier management.
- SAP/APO knowledge required
