JOB SUMMARY: Perform complicated and advanced mechanical engineering work on high complexity products, assemblies, and manufacturing processes. Responsible for the overall technical integrity and success of assigned projects of custom edge-welded metal bellows assemblies, accumulators, reservoirs, compressors, as well as many non-bellows products and components. Plan, organize, and lead a variety of technical projects involving the investigation, identification, testing, and evaluation of mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies for a wide range of applications in compliance with customers' requirements. The role requires a high degree of technical competence, business awareness, and adherence to engineering processes and procedures in order to perform the duties under minimal supervision, and with a high level of autonomy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provide technical leadership in Material Review Board (MRB) and Returned Material Authorization (RMA) activities, including final disposition authority and risk assessment for nonconforming materials while working closely with Quality Engineering.
- Lead complex root cause investigations using advanced structured problem-solving methodologies (5-Why, Fishbone, fault tree analysis, statistical methods) where applicable, ensuring sustainable resolution of systemic issues.
- Define and approve technically sound, compliant rework and salvage strategies, balancing quality, cost, and delivery considerations.
- Analyze manufacturing and quality data, identifying trends, systemic risks, and high-impact product/process improvement opportunities.
- Drive the development, implementation, and validation of containment, corrective, and preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring effectiveness and long-term process stability.
- Establish and standardize technical documentation, including work instructions, engineering reports, and best practices, ensuring alignment with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a primary technical resource to production, proactively identifying risks, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring manufacturing readiness and robustness.
- Prepare and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including cross-functional alignment, risk assessment, validation planning, and implementation of design, tooling, and process improvements.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across production, quality, supply chain, and engineering to resolve complex issues and optimize manufacturing performance.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce variation, improve yield, and increase operational efficiency.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to elevate team capability.
QualificationsJOB FUNCTIONS: DESIRABLE SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS- Minimum 5 years relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in GD&T principles and practices.
- Demonstrated Project Management Skills with the ability to lead cross functional initiatives.
- Experience with the following manufacturing processes: Stamping, Cleaning, Machining, Welding, Heat Treatment, Brazing, Hydraulic/Pneumatic testing, Inspection, and Packaging.
- Strong understanding the Lean mindset, Six-Sigma principles, and statistical analysis.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with operators and cross functional teams to identify root causes and implement robust, sustainable solutions.
Salary Hiring Range: $100,000 - $130,000
